It’s officially Christmas week in Disney World, which means that guests visiting the parks have the chance to see the FULL holiday parade in Magic Kingdom without needing to purchase tickets to Disney Very Merriest After Hours!

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will make its way from Frontierland, through Liberty Square, and down Main Street, U.S.A. at 12PM and 3:45PM between now and December 31st. And, if you’ve purchased Disney Genie+ for the day (aka Disney’s NEW paid way to skip the line at popular attractions in the park), then you have the opportunity to get an exclusive viewing area for the parade!
This morning, we opened up our My Disney Experience app to check the showtimes for Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and noticed that there was the option to book the experience with Genie+!

According to the My Disney Experience app, guests who are redeeming a Lightning Lane entry for the parade will need to see a parade-viewing Cast Member in the courtyard in front of Cinderella Castle during the arrival window. This will be located on the east side of the castle area.
We booked a Genie+ Lightning Lane for the 12PM parade and have a return window of 11:45PM to 12:15PM, so you can expect to arrive about 5-30 minutes before the parade makes its way to Main Street, U.S.A.

While this is the first time that we’ve seen an entertainment option available as part of Disney Genie+, this was something that was offered with FastPass+. So, this could be a sign that we’ll see Lightning Lane reservations become available in the future for things like fireworks and other parades as they return.

Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

So what’s next? Are we going to have to pay extra to maybe get dining reservations at the better restaurants?
“You can now book a dinner reservation at Carthay Circle Theater for an extra $50 per person. Reservations subject to availability. Prices vary by day.”
They just reached rock bottom, period !
Why would anyone pay for this feature, insane but somebody will.
This is just crazy! It’s way out of control!
