All of the Disney World Parks are getting a bit of a glow-up for the 50th Anniversary celebrations that will kick off in less than a month!
At Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle has transformed with new colors and golden details and we’re looking forward to seeing the brand new 50th Anniversary fireworks show and Main Street, U.S.A. projections that will begin on October 1st. But, that’s not all — special 50th Anniversary character statues will be making an appearance in the parks soon and we’re already starting to see preparations underway!
Normally, when you walk down Main Street, U.S.A., and into what’s called the “hub” (basically the big area near Cinderella Castle where you can branch off into the different lands), you can find a collection of bronze character statues. There’s one representing Donald…
…Goofy…
…Brer Rabbit…
…Chip n’ Dale, and more!
But, today we noticed that something was VERY different in the area — all of the statues were missing!
Instead, the bronze statues and concrete banisters had been removed and all that was left was an open space in the bushes where they used to be.
This is likely to make way for new Golden Character Statues that have been announced by Disney for the 50th Anniversary.
There will be 50 NEW character statues throughout all four parks when the celebrations begin. But, in front of Cinderella Castle, Disney has announced that you’ll be able to find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.
We’ll keep an eye out for when these Golden Statues start making an appearance in the Hub (and around the parks), and in the meantime, you can check out all of the character statues that have been revealed so far here!
