The 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World is fast approaching, which means that many things are getting spruced up around the resort.
We’ve seen updates to signage and entrance areas, the castle got some new decor, and even some hotel rooms are getting a makeover! Now, a popular photo spot in Magic Kingdom is about to see some changes.
According to a sign posted in the castle hub, the iconic “Partners” statue will be getting a refurbishment ahead of the big anniversary.
According to the sign, the work on the statue will take a while, so they’re starting early. The statue will stay the same, but receive “routine care” to clean and polish it up.
The sign specifically notes the following: “The process of removing oxidation buildup from patinated bronze is intensive — involving multiple phases to strip the sculpture to its bare metal before cleaning, reapplying a patina, and coating the entire figure in protective polymer and wax.”
The statue is likely going to look a lot more refreshed once they’re done, so we can’t wait to see the results. We’ll make sure to keep an eye on the progress in the meantime, so stay tuned to AllEars.
Have you ever taken a photo in front of this statue?
