I’ve Stayed at EVERY Disney World Hotel. Here Are My Tips for the Best Stay Ever at Pop Century Resort.

Walt Disney World has some pretty amazing hotels. I love a stay on-property at Disney World, whether I’m in a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe resort.

It’s my job to review Disney World hotels, and today, I’ve got some tips on making your stay at one of our favorite Value Resorts the best ever!

First things first, if you aren’t familiar with Pop Century, you can watch my full resort tour here!

Here are my nine top tips for having the best stay ever at Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

1. Request the 1950s sections.

The 1950s section of the hotel is the section that splits the closest distance between the lobby and the bus stops. This means it’s easier to get to the parks and back to your room!

2. Have a pool day!

The pools at Pop Century are awesome. Kids will love the Hippy Dippy Pool in the 1960s section, and the other pools tend to be nice and quiet. Snag a drink at Petals Pool Bar to complete the experience!

3. Enjoy the tunes.

With Pop Century’s decades theme, you’ll be able to listen to all sorts of music from the 20th century. You can even learn some cool dance moves from the buildings to dance along.

4. Get Tie-Dye Cheesecake!

This iconic dessert is available at Everything Pop Shopping and Dining and is a must-try for anyone staying at Pop Century (as long as you like cheesecake)!

5. Take a walk!

Pop Century has five different areas themed after the decades so we highly recommend taking a walk just to explore and check out all the fun decorations and theming.

6. Walk the wall in the lobby.

The lobby at Pop Century has a long wall that’s lined with dozens of shadow boxes exhibiting real memorabilia from the decades represented at the resort. It’s a great spot to spend a few minutes taking a look.

7. Check out the trivia around Hourglass Lake.

There’s a lovely walking trail around the entire lake that separates Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Plus, you can learn while you walk with fun facts dispersed the whole way ’round.

Pop grounds are great for a walk or jog.

8. Take the Skyliner

Disney’s newest form of transportation is an amazing perk for anyone staying at Pop Century. You’re missing out if you don’t snag a gondola for a trip to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios!

9. Pop over to Disney’s Art of Animation.

The neighboring resort has a lot of awesome theming to check out, too — and it’s just across the bridge!

  1. Stayed many times at Pop Century! Returning for the first time since early 2020, next month for 2 weeks! Can’t wait!

  2. My husband and I stayed at The Pop Century in September 2020. We found that the 1960’s section was better to get to places in the resort. The Pop Century will be our home away from home for all of our Walt Disney World vacations.

  3. Staying at POP in September 2021. CAN’T WAIT. 5th birthday for my son and 10th anniversary with my hubby.

We stayed at POP in 09 when he Proposed. So this will b Special

  4. Guys….this tie dye cheesecake comes up all the time…and it’s GROSS. I tried it, and it was the most awful thing I’ve had at Disney. Save your money and get a REAL dessert elsewhere. It does not live up to the hype at all.

  5. I have stayed at Pop Century many times and have always had an enjoyable stay. I haven’t gotten to experience the Skyliner yet because it wasn’t there the last time I visited. I can’t wait to go back to Disney World. I still dream about staying at a deluxe resort like the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian. I have stayed at the Contemporary before it was awesome!!!!!!
