Disneyland is planning to reopen again on July 17th to welcome guests, Cast Members, and more back into the magic.
While we’ve given you all the information on a new theme park reservation system, limited entertainment, and hotels, Disney officials have released an announcement from a Disney officials.
Disney Parks Chairman and Walt Disney World President Josh D’Amaro released a statement to celebrate the upcoming reopening of Disneyland.
Although he stated that there would be more announcements coming soon, D’Amaro assured everyone that Disney would be keeping everyone’s health and safety in mind as they “responsibly recapture the magic.” As they’ve been guided by local health and safety authorities along with a group of professionals, Disney will be keeping up the “unique environments of each of our parks, resorts and stores.”
D’Amaro went on to say that while some things may change in the parks, “the quality of our storytelling, magic of our experiences and the caliber of our cast members has not. We recognize the trust that you have in the Disney brand, and we will continue to earn your trust every day.”
Since Shanghai Disneyland has reopened for guests to visit, Disney has been doing everything possible to help keep guests’ satisfaction high and bring back experiences in phases. They will be using this same strategy when they reopen both Disney World and Disneyland.
Josh D’Amaro ended his statement by saying that, “Walt Disney once said that it takes people to make the dream a reality, and as we prepare ourselves to reopen his original park, I want you to know how eternally grateful I am for all of you who have made Disney parks, stores, hotels, cruise lines, guided tours and vacation properties part of your lives, as well as for the cast members, crew members, Imagineers, and employees who have brought them to life for the past 65 years.”
With the parks set to reopen, Disney feels optimistic along with Josh D’Amaro that they will be able to bring the magic back to all of its families and visitors.

My wife and I were due to fly from London Heathrow this morning to San Francisco for a 3 week trip ending with several days in Disneyland! Not our first visit and would not have been our last. Great news to hear Walt’s park is reopening on its 65th birthday, we were there for the 60th on 17th July 2015, wish we could be there next month!
It may feel strange during these early small steps, but they are steps in the right direction. The Magic will regrow and new, fond memories will be made by all generations. Best wishes to all the cast members in bringing the magic back and to all the lucky guests being able to visit. Stay safe all.
We have another trip planned in sept/oct and are hoping to be in Disneyland enjoying all it has to offer, but can’t decide Big Thunder or Radiator Springs Racers first?!
