Disneyland Resort Will Utilize a Theme Park Reservation System When it Reopens in July

We JUST learned that Disneyland Resort has proposed a phased reopening in July. According to its proposed plan, Downtown Disney will reopen to guests on July 9th, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will reopen on July 17th (the 65th Anniversary of the park), and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will reopen on July 23rd.

If the proposal goes through, when the theme parks reopen on July 17th, Disneyland will be using a Guest Reservation System, similar to what we will see in Disney World.

On Disney Parks Blog, we have been able to learn more about the reservation system that will be in place:

“Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, the Disneyland Resort will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be subject to availability.”

Please note that at this time, these are proposed reopening dates and plans — they are not officially approved yet.

This is a developing story so be sure to keep an eye on AllEars as we continue to report on this new guest reservation system!

  1. we have disney flex passes and can only make reservations 30 days in advance. does anyone know if everyone else can make them early and screw us out of our dates?

    1. if you didn’t have a pre purchased ticket before the announced reopening, you wont be able to go. They suspended all new ticket sales for awhile to accommodate all scheduled vacation packages, and APH reservations.

  2. We have reservations for early August and are hoping for some kind of reservation priority since we have a package with tickets.

  3. We are planning on going to Disneyland on July 19. Traveling from Pittsburgh as part of a larger trip. We were able to get Yoesemite reservation so the trip is on. Hopefully we can get a reservation for a Disney day!
