Disney Just Made Another Land Purchase Near Magic Kingdom!

Even though the theme parks of Disney are quiet right now, that doesn’t mean that work has stopped behind-the-scenes in planning the future of the park.

While the parks may be closed, it looks like Disney just made a purchase that could involve some future plans!

According to the Orlando Business Journal, Celebration Co. (a Disney-related entity) just made a 26.3-acre land purchase west of Magic Kingdom for $1.05 million. The land is a few miles to the west of Magic Kingdom, on the southern shore of Reedy Creek Lake. Technically the land is closest to the Shades of Green Golf Course and the Grand Floridian Resort.

Now, we’re not sure what this land deal is for. It could be for some sort of expansion of offerings, or it could simply be a financial decision. Having land is a valuable asset, and with current economic uncertainty, Disney may have wanted to take advantage of a new purchase.

This comes as the most recent of Disney’s land purchases, after the company made a $6 million land acquisition in December 2019, purchasing 235 acres right next to this new plot.

As of now, that’s all we know about this mysterious land purchase! We’ll be keeping an eye out and let you know when we learn more about what the future could hold for the Most Magical Place on Earth.
