A surprising event just occurred in Magic Kingdom‘s Adventureland.
On today’s Jungle Cruise, one of the iconic boats sank with Skipper and guests alike onboard!
According to the Disney Food Blog, a Jungle Cruise boat started taking on water earlier today, sinking below the water. The incident happened quickly, and thankfully guests and Cast Members were able to evacuate from the sinking vessel, with no injuries reported. Disney Food Blog shared a photo from a guest who was riding at the time that shows the boat sinking with passengers on board.
The incident caused the ride to temporarily close, though it has since reopened with a posted 35 minute wait time.
This is actually not the first reported incident of a Jungle Cruise boat sinking at Magic Kingdom. In 2004, the ride’s Sankuru Sadie boat sank in Disney World, as well.
