Epcot Forever Fireworks Photography

I photographed the latest Epcot fireworks show from the Showcase Plaza called Epcot Forever. It is a good show with excellent music and lots of colorful bursts.

You need a FastPass to get into the Showcase Plaza.  A few other photographers and I had done so. We lined up at the back of the plaza which happens to be the highest spot allowing us to photograph the show over people’s heads.

Before the show starts, light beams criss cross over the center of the World Showcase Lagoon. It gave me the opportunity to set up my focus and get ready for the show to start. Using a tripod, I then turned off my auto-focus.

I used the Bulb Method and controlled the shutter’s opening and closing manually based on the number of bursts I wanted to capture. I especially like to get the streamers launched from around the lagoon.

Sometimes, I like a set of small bursts like this.

Other times I waited for the entire frame to be filled with colors.

In post, I open up the shadows enough so you can see the American Adventure pavilion across the way and the people watching the show.
