If Sam the Eagle could eat at one restaurant at Walt Disney World, it would probably be the Regal Eagle Smokehouse coming to the American Adventure pavilion in Epcot.
We have been getting a few details on Regal Eagle sporadically over the last few months. It was announced last month that Regal Eagle would be opening in December.
As of this week, it appears construction on the restaurant proper isn’t finished yet. But the patio area where guests will be able to sit and enjoy a variety of barbecue and craft beers is now open.
From the concept art, we knew there would be plenty of open space and patio seating here, and it really is a large area.
The materials are brick and gray stone/concrete, keeping with the exterior hardscape we see throughout the pavilion.
The restaurant itself is still blocked by construction walls, and it appears a tarp or plastic is back up around the unfinished space. But some picnic tables on the patio are giving guests a new spot to sit and relax (or munch on a funnel cake) while we wait for the barbecue to hit our plates!
We can’t wait to check out this new quick-service restaurant in Epcot. It will be a salute to all food American, but mostly barbecue.
