We’ve had a few details here and there, mostly about the ride coming to the new land, but beyond that, we haven’t heard much since the initial announcement. Well, now we’ve got some brand-NEW details about Monstropolis, and we’re sharing them with you.

Disney finally revealed MORE details about the new Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios. For starters, we got the official logo of Monstropolis – and yes, this is the land’s official name!

We also got a look at the pages of the Monstropolis Horn, the city’s official newspaper. Following months of planning, the Department of Human Relations has finally approved its new plan for a H.U.M.A.N. Day, where Monstropolis will open its doors to humans! Soon, monsters will be able to learn more about humans, plus use our laughter for energy.

After noticing it in the concept art, Disney just confirmed a new attraction to the land — the Glob Theater! The theater helps bring the city to life, adding even more personality and energy with can’t-miss moments around every corner. Monstropolis will also include Disney’s first-ever suspended roller coaster based on the doors chase scene in the first Monsters, Inc. film.

Plus, Disney hinted at the new restaurant coming to Monstropolis, Harryhausen’s! This is the upscale Japanese sushi restaurant that Mike takes Celcia to before Boo escapes. Based on the concept art, it looks like Harryhausen’s will move into the former site of Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, but the location is still subject to change.

Our eagle-eyed team noticed that the newspaper has two featured articles, one about local restaurants and one about the Glob Theater beginning rehearsals for H.U.M.A.N. Day, both on page 8, column 15. August 15th is the Disney Experiences Showcase at D23, so we’re pretty sure they’ll give us more details then!
