Let’s say you get to Disney World and realize you’ve got a rumbly in your tumbly.

Well, the only thing you can do is to satiate that rumbly by visiting Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom, a character dining experience with Pooh and Friends. Well, we recently popped in to see Pooh for breakfast, and we’re bringing you along with us.
Background
Crystal Palace is a character dining experience with Winnie the Pooh and Friends located on the back end of Main Street, U.S.A., as you’re headed towards Adventureland. It’s an all-day buffet-style meal set in a Victorian-era conservatory, complete with high ceilings, hanging plants, and stained glass windows.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
The restaurant sits inside a Victorian-inspired building with gorgeous natural lighting due to all the windows. In fact, it’s called the Crystal Palace because of the way the sun’s light reflects inside it.

You’ll also find a gorgeous glass dome ceiling with a living garden beneath it. There are also topiaries of Pooh and his friends, along with a homemade banner that says, “Welcome to our Friendship Day Celebrashun.”

With that being said, it can get loud, like most character dining experiences, and sounds seem to really reverberate underneath all that glass. However, you do get to see Pooh during your meal — he’s set up in the center of the restaurant. You can choose to meet him at any given time while you’re visiting the restaurant.

Other characters roam around, including Eeyore…

…Tigger…

…and Piglet.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
This is a buffet, and for breakfast, there are a variety of traditional breakfast foods to enjoy, like egg dishes…

…biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bacon…

…fruit…

…breads, bagels…

…pastries…

…cereal, and more.

But we had some very specific things we wanted to eat, starting with the Mickey Waffles. Now, these are not your USUAL Mickey Waffles. No, these are Churro Mickey Waffles, which makes them extra special. Honestly, if we could only eat one thing on this buffet, this would be it. They really do have that cinnamon-sugary flavor of churros, just in waffle form. These should even please picky eaters.

The pancakes here, though, are also pretty special. Blueberry Cheesecake Pancakes are available. However, when we tried them, we thought they were more like just regular blueberry pancakes with some cream cheese drizzle on them. There wasn’t anything cheesecake-flavored about them. Also, the pancakes were hard. The flavor was good, but they were almost too hard to eat.

Continuing on with the sweet breakfast treats, we also tried the Chocolate Chip French Toast. The flavor and texture really reminded us of those little miniature chocolate chip muffins. So it’s like that, but in French toast form. It didn’t really taste like standard French toast, though. However, it paired really well with the syrup.

Then it was on to the Sticky Bun. This was like a cinnamon roll covered in a sticky syrup. It’s very messy, and if you have kids, you’ve been warned. It also had pecans on it for some crunch. To be honest, we didn’t care for it because it really didn’t compare to the other items we’d already had.

It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t amazing either.
Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You love buffets. If you want to eat all the things and then eat them again, a buffet is surely the best way to do that. There is plenty of variety to satisfy just about everyone, plus a few unique offerings like the Churro Mickey Waffles.
- You want a quality breakfast and character dining experience. The food here is pretty good for a buffet, and with the special offerings like those blueberry cheesecake pancakes and Churro Mickey Waffles, you’re sure to feel like the food is worth the price. However, you also get to meet the characters from Winnie the Pooh.
- You have picky eaters in your group. The beauty of a buffet like this is that there is enough food to satisfy everyone, including picky eaters and children. This is a meal that will please the whole family.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You want a quiet meal. It can get really noisy here, and that’s not helped by what is usually a fully-packed dining room. There’s also a little parade that happens that’s got lots of music, clapping, and marching. You’ll also see and hear a lot of children.
- Don’t want to meet Disney characters during a meal. Let’s face it, some people really don’t want the anxiety of meeting their favorite characters while stuffing their face. If you don’t like character meet-and-greets, in general, you’ll want to stay away.
- Prefer more intimate dining. There is nothing about Crystal Palace that feels intimate. It’s full of tables and chairs, while the restaurant itself is bright, light, and colorful. You may also end up being seated in the middle of the room.
Crystal Palace Restaurant
Services: Buffet/All You Care to Eat
If you’re up for some fun character dining, not to mention some one-on-one time with Pooh and all his friends, Crystal Palace might be just the thing you need. Breakfast offers plenty of variety, as well as some unique options, and the restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. It does get busy and noisy, though, so keep that in mind.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
