FULL TOUR of the NEW Rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

If you’ve been having trouble keeping up with all the construction updates in Disney World, you’re not alone. Just with hotels alone, a lot is going on. Over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Everything Pop recently got a facelift, while the lobby is currently getting an update, along with the guest rooms. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is also getting a lobby makeover.

Beautiful Rooms

Disney’s Contemporary Resort has been busy, too. Bay Lake Tower has been undergoing a year-long transformation that includes updates to its rooms. Well, now, we’ve got a first look at those new rooms.

Bay Lake Tower first opened in 2009 as a standalone Disney Vacation Club resort, although it follows the same design and theme as Disney’s Contemporary Resort. In 2024, Disney announced the rooms at the tower would be getting an upgrade. Now, a year later, we’re excited to see what these new rooms look like.

Bedroom

We toured the 2 Bedroom Villa, which sleeps nine! From the minute we walked in, we were amazed by the details around the room. Doesn’t this headboard look so comfortable?

There was so much artwork to appreciate. There was a lot of inspiration from Mary Blair, including her five-legged goat from the Grand Canyon Concourse mural near the monorail. All of the artwork was inspired by the early years of the Contemporary Resort.

Hi there!

Other artwork was done by Joey Chou, another one of our favorites! Uh, can we take this home, please?

The perfect combo of Magic Kingdom

We loved the Murphy bed that pulls down for more beds. The ability to push it back up and have space during the day is the best, so you don’t have to sacrifice space for beds.

The view? To die for! There’s also plenty of room to hang out. Whether you’re family piles in to watch TV at night or eat a quick breakfast before your park trip, having extra space is so helpful for a longer trip.

Look at that view!

There are two bathrooms, one of which features references to the monorail. It’s similar to the bathrooms in the main Contemporary building, with plenty of counter space and a tub that looks so relaxing.

Bathroom

The other one has more Mary Blair-style artwork. This bathroom is smaller, but it features a sink with storage underneath, as well as a bathtub and shower. Two showers make getting ready in the morning SO much easier, especially when you’re trying to run out the door.

Bathroom

There are areas to get ready in, so your whole family isn’t piled into the bathroom. You can even watch TV while you hang out! We love the small bench to sit on while you put on your shoes or keep your backpacks ready for the next day.

Sitting area

The second bedroom just makes us want to jump into bed! Disney days are usually long and tiring, so having a relaxing spot to return to at the end of the night will make for the best trip ever.

Another shoutout to the view! One of the best parts of staying at a resort near the Magic Kingdom area is the view of the other resorts, water, and sometimes the castle, depending on where you’re at. You might even be able to get a glimpse of the fireworks.

Seriously, gorgeous

We know some folks are going to be excited to book these new rooms for their next Disney World trip. Between the updates and Bay Lake Tower’s proximity to Magic Kingdom, we expect them to be pretty popular.
