The $721 Hotel Room Disney Fans Are Calling “Small and Overpriced”

Some fans have concerns over an expensive room option at a popular Disney World hotel.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas is a Disney Vacation Club Resort that offers a wide range of budgeting options. Currently, this resort holds an 8.25 out of 10 rating on our review page and an 89% recommendation rating with over 75 reviews — so, for the most part, guests have really enjoyed their stay here. However, a recent 2025 review brought up some severe complaints, and it’s got us rethinking a stay here.

In late June of 2025, an anonymous writer submitted a review of Disney’s Boardwalk Villas on our website that suggested their room size was a real issue — which is problematic when you’re paying top dollar.

The review reads:

“Stayed [in a] a studio 6/9-6/16 [2025]….small room, toilet are[a] with shower is tight. 1 sink and no privacy curtain/door.

Caribbean resort is cheaper bigger room and privacy.”

The review also added that the room had water cut off one afternoon during maintenance, and the reviewer was unhappy with the response from the hotel staff.

Boardwalk Studio Villa

When you’re staying in a studio at the BoardWalk Villas, yes, you should expect tighter spaces. Unfortunately for this guest, the dimensions really did bring down the stay experience. Additionally, it probably would’ve been less of an issue had the price been lower, but alas, this was not the case.

Accessible studio bathroom

With all that in mind, we don’t want to write off this studio room entirely. As the review indicates, there are still some pros.

The location is close to EPCOT, making for a short walk, for example.

Another pro of this room, ironically, is the size. This is a nice resort, and the price isn’t as outlandish as some of the rates you’d be paying for a larger room here or at other nice deluxe resorts.

It’s not cheap, and we won’t pretend it is. But if you’re planning on traveling alone or with one other person, the space issue may not be that much of an issue at all. It actually gets even more justifiable if you plan on spending most of your stay outside your room.

  1. Space is important but at that price point, you also should not have to wait one minute past posted check in times and should be able to stay in your room without being harassed up until checkout time. Both have been issues for me when traveling to wdw deluxe hotels.

Also how many of us have had to deal with water shutoffs (yes, happened to us at BLT), construction just outside our balcony all day long, all week long (talking about you yacht club) or had a room next to the housekeeping laundry room? I feel like those situations or rooms should either be comped or just outright not rented.

  2. We were planning a Disney trip w/2 college age sons, need a room with 3 real beds. No little pull down beds or roll aways, they are big guys. Only Disney options are 2 rooms or a 2 bedroom condo, crazy expensive.
