Flavors of Florida has officially begun at Disney Springs, and there are SO many great offerings to try! Think of this like one of EPCOT’s seasonal foodie festivals, but 1.) no park ticket is required, and 2.) restaurants from all over Disney Springs get to participate!

We’ve tried tons of the snacks around the shopping and dining district so far, but now we get a chance to try more of the offerings from the sit-down restaurants around Disney Springs, WITHOUT dining reservations. Here’s how we did it!
We participated in the Flavors of Florida progressive dining event! It’s called Taste the Flavors of Florida, costs $107 per person, and gets you some of the best flavors Florida has to offer. The tour features locally inspired dishes and drinks starting at Enzo’s Hideaway and concluding at Morimoto Asia.
Our first stop was Enzo’s Hideaway, and right away, we were blown away by the amount of food and drinks here!

We stopped by the bar first and tried a few different drinks. The first was the Tropical Distillery from J.F.Haden’s, which is a women-owned business. There were four flavors to try — Mango, Coconut, Espresso ,and Key Lime Pie Liquors. We tried the espresso, and it tasted JUST like straight espresso, you don’t even have to mix it with anything to dilute an alcohol taste. The Key Lime Pie was also incredible, both in smell and in taste — it’s got a graham cracker essence to it and everything.

We also grabbed the Classic Cannoli available here at Enzo’s Hideaway. It’s nice and classic, breaks apart just how you’d want it to. The filling is delicious, and we’re big fans — if you love cannolis, this is a must.

Next up was The Everglader by Saint Augustine Distillery, which is a reimagined 1920s cocktail and contains New World Gin, Florida Orange Liquor, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice, and Absinthe Spirits. It’s sold for $18 regularly at Enzo’s Hideaway. It was very gin-forward and we only got a hint of citrus, so there really wasn’t any other flavor but the alcohol.

Then it was time for the Bourbon Flight, which had options of Florida Straight, Toasted Finish, and Port Finished. The Port Finisher was very potent — smooth at first, then with a bite at the end. Toasted Finish tasted more like s’mores, and the Florida Straight was a great choice if you’re looking for something to use for a regular old-fashioned or to mix into a drink that has a bourbon base.

Then it was time for some REAL food, starting with the FRA Diavola Pizza. This was delicious! It was like a hot honey pizza with pepperoni slices on it, and it had just enough heat to know it was there, but it wasn’t overwhelming.

The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich was exceptional! The chicken itself was great, and it was a natural hot honey that wasn’t overwhelming. We would totally get this again and again.

Guess what? MORE DRINKS! We tried the Hidden Springs Orange Crush Beer, which is a seasonal beer only available at certain times at Enzo’s Hideaway (but is available year-round at The Edison). It’s very light, has some honey notes to it. The orange is certainly strong, and the taste sits at the back of your throat for a while, but we didn’t mind that.

The Southeastern Sangria is a little tart and sour like you’d expect a sangria to be. It’s not very strong, but you can smell it (the way you normally can with sangrias), and it’s got that wine aftertaste. It’s more on the tart side than sweet, but it is sweeter than some of the other drinks we had this year.

Then we got to try the Bruschetta Calabrese, which was incredible! The bruschetta was nice and creamy, and the toasted ciabatta bread was fantastic. It was light in the best way, and had a great tang to it, almost like you’d get from blue cheese or cottage cheese on the top.

We also got to try Munyon’s Paw-Paw offerings, which are more like a palate cleanser. It’s got an orange note on the front and is very aromatic, but it’s a little bitter since it’s not meant to have much flavor to it. We think it’s great if you’re moving between items and need something to clear your palette, or if you’re finishing dinner.

We then headed over to Morimoto Asia for the final two offerings! The first was the Florida Orange Sweet and Sour Grouper, and we loved it! It was like a sweet and sour stir fry, and the flavors were so vibrant. The citrus notes were wonderful, and while it’s a little pricey for what you get ($38), if you’re looking for a delicious, flavorful dish, this is a great choice.

Finally, we grabbed the Sparkling Shiso Orange Mocktail, and this is a TRUE mocktail. It’s tart with a bubbly element to it and is very strong on the citrus. This isn’t something mild — it packs a punch! It’s served for $9, and that’s not bad at all for a true mocktail like this.

Overall, we thought this was a fantastic way to try so many great offerings, and we were very impressed with many of them! Flavors of Florida is certainly worth checking out this summer, and you can count on us to continue to bring you reviews as the season goes on.
