We talk often about what shoes are best to bring on your Disney World vacation.

That’s because when you’re walking miles and miles in the parks for a few days, your feet will VERY quickly start to hurt if you’re not wearing the right shoes. But you don’t have to worry about what shoes you’re packing on the Disney Treasure…right? WRONG, friends, VERY wrong. These are the worst shoes you can pack on your Disney Treasure cruise and what you should wear instead.
Doc Martens
Listen, we know there’s a time and place for Doc Marten shoes…but a cruise ship is NOT one of them. If you’ve never owned a pair of Doc Martens, these are very well-made shoes, but they’re known for being thicker boots/shoes. Even their sandals are a little thicker and heavier than what you may want for a cruise.

Plus, you may not want to risk getting these expensive shoes dirty in the sand or potentially stepping in spilled ice cream on the deck. Instead, we recommend taking some Tevas!

While these are still good, quality sandals, they’re not nearly as expensive as Doc Martens and will be MUCH more comfortable during your vacation. If they get sandy, you can spray them off with water without worrying they’re getting ruined!
However, if you are looking for something that is close-toed, we do recommend comfortable sneakers like Hokas!

We know, this is a pretty hefty investment, but these are especially great to bring if you’re spending any time before or after your cruise in the Disney parks!
Flimsy Flip Flops
Flip flops can be a great choice on a cruise because you’re not worried about them getting wet or dirty. However, if you choose to wear cheap, flimsy flip flops that are more prone to breaking, you could end up walking around with only one shoe.

Instead, we recommend grabbing a pair of sandals that you’re also not worried about getting some wear and tear, like Chacos!

As you can see, we have members of our team who love Chacos and wear them often around the Disney World parks, which means they’re certainly durable enough for the Disney Treasure.
High Heels
There are some fancy dining options that are aboard Disney Cruises, including the Disney Treasure, and we totally understand that you want to look nice for it! However, wearing high-heeled shoes, especially stilettos, is a BIG NO for Disney cruises.

This is for a few reasons, with the number one just being that they’re not very comfortable, closely followed by the fact that you’re on a boat. If you hit rough waters and the boat is swaying (which can be felt more prominently at each end of the boat rather than in the middle) and you only have a tiny heel helping you stay steady, you may find yourself falling over often.

The same can be said for fancy dining reservations in Disney World, and we don’t recommend them there either — even just for an evening! Instead, we encourage you to take a look at our whole PAGE of shoes that we highly recommend for your Disney parks or Disney Cruise vacation. Many of them can be dressed up or down depending on the rest of your outfit!
