Have you ever been excited to see a wall?

Over the last several years, EPCOT has undergone a MASSIVE transformation. The entire front of the park, formerly known as Future World was transformed and subdivided into World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature, while Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana were all added to the park. All of this led to the park being a mess of construction walls for years… but that’s finally ending.
While traveling through EPCOT recently, we came upon a fantastic site: one of the final sets of construction walls has been removed!

The final construction barriers surrounding Dreamer’s Point have been removed, revealing a massive EPCOT-themed wall. Check out the EPCOT-stylistic details embedded within…

…and are those speakers we see?

The wall is the final finishing touch to Dreamer’s Point, a newly landscaped portion of the park’s center paying tribute to Walt Disney. The area features a statue of Walt in his older years, with a look of satisfaction on his face, perhaps enjoying the – albeit very different than he intended – culmination of his dream of progress.
Disney describes the area as being an area where you can “explore lush gardens, listen to stirring musical performances, and delight in festival fun at Dreamers Point. Here, you’ll also discover a statue of Walt Disney—a reminder for us all to dream big.”

Back when the statue was first announced, Imagineer Zack Ridley wrote of the Walt statue, “Walt Disney had a dream of an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow – his original bold vision for EPCOT. This legacy has inspired generations of Imagineers who built and continue to add stories and design concepts to this place we call EPCOT. It’s a park about people – and the dreams we all share. World Celebration will be the future home to a statue of Walt, celebrating his original dreams of this place and the boundless imagination that unites and inspires people from around the world.”
While the removal of these walls does mark a major milestone in EPCOT’s construction history, it doesn’t quite mean that the park’s transformation is complete. That will take until the newly redesigned CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza finally open on June 10th.

With the final pieces of EPCOT’s transformation finally opening, the park is finally ready to properly enter its new era after years of construction and delays. Stay tuned to AllEars for more coverage of EPCOT as the park’s rebirth continues.
