Do you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation booked soon?

When you take a Disney Cruise, you get a cruise with Disney touches, like great food, character meet and greets, Disney shows, first-run Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars movies, and even fun event nights. You also get specific itineraries to and from interesting cities, ports, and historical sites. However, one Disney Cruise ship is about to see its itineraries change — but for a good reason.
The Disney Dream has had to change some of its itineraries because the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has designed specific areas in the North-West Mediterranean Sea as something known as a “Particular Sensitive Area.” This is an area where the risk of collisions with whales could happen, so the IMO has asked ships to slow their speeds in these areas that fall along the coasts of France, Italy, Monaco, and Spain.

To comply, the Disney Dream will reduce its speed in these areas, which will also mean that some of its itineraries will change. Here are the affected cruises:
- 7-Night Mediterranean Cruise from Barcelona departing May 25th, 2024: The ship will visit Palermo, Italy instead of Villefranche, France, and calls in Naples, Civitavecchia, and Livorno have been shifted by one day.
- 11-Night Mediterranean with Greek Isles Cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) Ending in Barcelona departing June 24th, 2024: The ship will visit Palma de Mallorca, Spain instead of Naples, Italy, as well as swap the placement of the last day at sea.
- 7-Night Mediterranean Cruise from Barcelona departing July 5th, 2024: The ship will visit Palermo, Italy instead of Cannes, France, and calls in Naples, Civitavecchia, and Livorno have been shifted by a day.
- 5-Night Mediterranean Cruise from Barcelona departing July 12th, 2024: The ship will have a Day at Sea instead of visiting Villefranche, France.
- 7-Night Western Europe Cruise from Barcelona ending in Southampton departing July 17th, 2024: The ship will have a Day at Sea instead of visiting Cartagena, Spain.

Those who have sailings booked on those cruises, as well as travel agents, will receive SeaMails about these changes.
