There are plenty of great amenities available at Disney World Resorts hotels, including tons of pools to relax in and fun activities like horseback riding and archery!

But staying off-property could get you some other perks and save you money too. If you are looking for a non-Disney resort that will give you some great amenities, we’ve got the update for you!
According to the Orlando Sentinel, The Reunion Resort, which is located in Kissimmee near Disney World, is about to get a $1 BILLION(!!) expansion.
The resort was purchased by Kingwood International Resorts, an Atlanta resort operator, back in 2019, but only recently has Kingwood obtained the loan that’ll allow for phase 1 of the expansion.

In case you’re wondering where the hotel is, Google Maps shows it about 17 minutes south of Disney World.

The Resort already includes a 360-room Reunion Grand Hotel, 3 championship golf courses, and many other amenities. But soon it’ll have more.
The expansion will bring a NEW hotel to the resort, along with vacation condos that’ll surround a 10-acre lagoon and an amphitheater.
Phase 1 plans include adding 1,800 more rental units. The project is scheduled to occur over 5 phases, with some of the new structures being built over parts of some of the existing golf courses. Certain courses will be redesigned to accommodate the construction.

They have a unique vision for the expansion. Six separate condo-hotel buildings that will be constructed will have architecture from different parts of the world. And the interior designs will showcase those regions.
There will be suites with one or two buildings in those condos. Plus, the new vacation rental units will have balconies facing the lagoon and amphitheater. New nightly light shows and entertainment will occur at the amphitheater, so those staying in these units will have a spectacular view of the action.

With all the new expansions coming their way in the future, this resort might be one to consider for future vacations. You can visit the Reunion Resort website to get more information.
