Disneyland is usually completely fine with having mice run the park — as long as we’re talking about Mickey and Minnie, of course. However, some uninvited rodents moved in recently, which definitely caused a stir.

According to a recent report from the Environmental Health Division in Orange County, California, one Disneyland location failed an inspection due to a “rodent infestation.” Â
The Orange County Register reported that the Environmental Health Division of the Orange County Health Care Agency recently “closed a Disneyland food location for rodent infestation.” The exact location wasn’t specified in the report — just “Disneyland Guide 2.”

The classification of this building shows that it’s a retail food location, not a restaurant. That means it could have been any store that sold pre-packaged food — retail food locations include grocery stores, convenience stores, vending machines, and similar locations.

Apparently, the report stated that vermin droppings were found in the building, in both a storage room and in “the front sales area.” This meant the retail food facility had to close due to “imminent health hazards.” It was closed on July 29th, 2022, and the Health Care Agency gave Disneyland some time to take care of the problem.

During that week, Disneyland was told to remove the infestation, clean all surfaces, seal any gaps and cracks to prevent future infestations, and remove the prepackaged food and beverages from the building. On August 1st, a re-inspection cleared the location and it was once again able to open. A follow-up inspection on August 8th confirmed that the spot is now sanitary.

Like all other restaurants, dining locations in Disneyland are required to undergo health inspections. Several locations recently passed inspections in the parks, including Troubadour Tavern, Oga’s Cantina, and Blue Bayou.

Blue Bayou recently reopened in Disneyland, with reservations opening on June 24th. If you want to dine inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, you can reserve your spot now! And don’t forget to check out the iconic Monte Cristo sandwich at this restaurant.
