Disney World is a VERY popular place to visit, which means that the parks have pretty huge parking lots to accommodate all of the guests’ cars. While it’s great to have the parking available, those lots can mean a LONG journey from your car to the front entrance at the start of your Disney day. Before the 2020 closures, every park had parking lot trams to get guests from their cars to the park entrance. But when the parks reopened, the trams sadly didn’t return with them.
However, back in December of 2021, parking lot trams finally returned to Magic Kingdom! At that point, Disney also announced that trams would be returning to the other 3 Disney World parks throughout 2022. And now we finally know when the trams will return to another park!
We asked a Cast Member at Guest Relations today when parking lot trams could return to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Per this Cast Member, the trams will return on May 27th of this year.
That means your long trek from the parking lot to the entrance will be much easier starting on that date. Disney hasn’t announced yet when the trams will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT.
May 27th is a big deal in Disney World for more reasons than just the return of Animal Kingdom’s parking trams. This is also the day that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will officially open in EPCOT.

May 27th is also the 5th anniversary of the opening of Pandora — World of Avatar in Animal Kingdom! This event will be marked by new merchandise collections, and we’ve seen a sneak peek at these souvenirs as well.
