There are so many fascinating features and offerings coming to Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

The new experience will take guests aboard the Halcyon, where they’ll stay for two days completing missions, interacting with characters, and living through their own Star Wars story. Everything on the ship is completely immersive and themed (even the rooms!), and it will be very similar to the experience you get on a cruise — you’ll only leave the resort for your “port of call” in Galaxy’s Edge. But what if you’re worried about being trapped inside for that long? Don’t worry, Disney has you covered!
According to StarWars.com, those who need a bit of fresh air can head to the “Climate Simulator,” an area of the Starcruiser that hasn’t really been discussed yet. Ann Morrow Johnson, the executive producer and creative director for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, notes that the climate simulator features “really amazing technology from the Star Wars world.” (Wink, wink.)

Johnson says “We were able to exactly simulate the climate of the planet we’re visiting on your shore excursion. So in our case, that’s the planet of Batuu.” If you’re hoping for some time outdoors, you can visit a courtyard with sunshine, plants, and weather conditions from the planet. “We’ve got a little garden out there and a simulated roof overhead that is even able to simulate the sky.”

Confused? To put it in less magical terms, the courtyard will actually open up into the outside area and you’ll be able to get some fresh air if you need it. To make it fit with the story of the hotel, it’s referred to as a “simulation” to get guests “acclimated” to life on Batuu (aka Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). So don’t worry, you’re not actually trapped indoors for two whole days!
