Upon reopening, Disney World was operating with a variety of different modifications. However, over the past several weeks a variety of things have slowly, but surely, been returning to Disney World

So, as Disney releases huge announcements about the future of Disney World, we’re giving you a look at three things you can do now that you couldn’t six months ago!
VERY Different Health and Safety Protocols
When the parks first reopened, the health and safety protocols were strict in how guests were able to explore the area. Previously, guests were only able to eat and drink while remaining stationary and distanced from others. However, now everyone is able to snack and sip as they please as masks aren’t required outdoors for those that are fully vaccinated.

Since then, less social distancing was incorporated into the parks as markers have been removed, additional guests have been allowed on attractions, and capacity has continued to increase. Temperature checks have also been removed across the parks and resorts, giving more flexibility to actually entering Disney World.

But, perhaps the biggest health and safety change that has occurred has been the removal of many mask policies! Guests who are fully vaccinated no longer have to wear masks indoors or outdoors, while fully vaccinated Cast Members are able to do the same. Disney does not require proof of vaccination, but does ask that guests who aren’t vaccinated continue to wear masks during their visit.

Live Entertainment
If there’s something we missed in Disney World the most, it’s definitely been live entertainment. And, now the parks have a whole line-up of returning shows either available now or coming soon! The very first form of live entertainment to return was the Festival of the Lion King in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Although there’s been a few changes, the show has since reduced its distancing measures and added more times to its schedule.

After long months of waiting, we’ve got a debut date for EPCOT’s Harmonious as well! It seems like it’s been ages since we’ve watched barges added to the World Showcase Lagoon, as the construction has undergone testing and behind-the-scenes details have been revealed for the daytime and nighttime show.

But, the wait will be over, just in time for Disney World’s 50th anniversary as Harmonious makes its debut on October 1st! During the day, the centerpieces will serve as water displays before transforming into the incredible nighttime entertainment with a blend of classic Disney music and the theme of global unity.

There will also be a brand new daytime show over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in honor of the 50th anniversary! Disney KiteTails will debut at the Discovery River Amphitheater as performers fly windcatchers and kites, while three-dimensional kites soar over the water to Disney music. Some will even be as big as 30 feet long! Various characters like Simba, Zazu, Baloo, and King Luie will hype up the crowd before they make their way around the rest of the park!

Watch Fireworks
Fireworks will be returning to Disney World this summer! Starting July 1st, the Magic Kingdom will welcome back Happily Ever After nightly at 9:15 PM…

…EPCOT Forever returns to the World Showcase at 10 PM! Not every fireworks show will be coming back to Disney World at this time, but, the parks are already looking popular for fireworks as Park Passes have continued to fill up and the hours on the schedule have been extended.

But, perhaps the biggest news we’ve gotten so far with Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is that there will be a special fireworks show coming to the Magic Kingdom! When Enchantment debuts on October 1st, the show will have new music, castle lighting, fireworks, and projection work that will light up both Cinderella Castle and Main Street, U.S.A. for the first time EVER in the Magic Kingdom.

As more changes come to the parks over the upcoming months, we’ll be sure to update you on everything you need to know! Stay tuned with All Ears for the latest Disney news coming soon!
