Festival of the Lion King Reduces Physical Distancing For Guests in Disney World

So a lot is changing at Disney World right now!

Look at All Those Animals!

As of today, we’ve seen a change in mask policy at the parks (masks are now no longer required outdoors), the end of temperature checks, and the removal of plexiglass on some rides.

Earlier this week, Disney changed the wording on its website about its health and safety guidelines, suggesting that it would gradually begin to reduce physical distancing in the parks.

New Face Mask Signage

We’ve now seen physical distancing being reduced first-hand in the parks. While we were catching a performance of A Celebration of The Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, we noticed social distancing measures in the theatre had been lessened even more.

We noticed that more guests were being allowed inside the theater as additional seating was opened up.

Guests Are Seated Closer Than Before

Guests are seated in every row, although they are staggered according to stickers on the benches that are still 6 feet apart (as opposed to the newer 3 feet apart guidance).

New Seating

With these changes, The Festival of the Lion King has almost double the show’s capacity for guests that it did prior. We will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation at Disney World and keep you updated on any and all updates.
