Back in 2012, I wrote about a couples cruise on the Disney Dream. Last week, I took a cruise with my family which included five adults and a 19-month old baby boy. With a young child in the group, I enjoyed seeing the cruise adventure through his eyes and those of his parents.

The first event was the Sail Away Celebration as the Disney Dream pulled away from Port Canaveral and headed out to sea. My grandson was captivated by the show with its catchy tunes and dancing Disney characters.

Earlier in the day, my grandson checked out It’s A Small World Nursery so his parents could relax in the adult areas of the ship while he played away with the Cast Members.

The Family Beach on Castaway Cay was large enough it did not seem crowded. Our visit had perfect Caribbean weather and the water was warm, blue and perfect for swimming and floating for my entire family.

That night was Pirate Night which started with Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean stage show under the funnelvision on Deck 11.  Even though it was late (for him), my grandson had a ball singing and dancing along with the show.

Another perk with cruising with family for my Daughter and Son-In-Law was my wife and I took care of their son for a night while they went to Palo for dinner.  They got a nice night out while we enjoyed time with our grandson on the Disney Dream.
