REVIEW: Pym Quantum Racers on the Disney Adventure Cruise Ship

We’re on board Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, the Disney Adventure, and we’re taking you along with us as we ride a mini car on the seas.

The Disney Adventure is on its maiden voyage, and we’re here to show you a closer look at everything this ship has to offer. This cruise is one of a kind as its home port is in Singapore. One of the things that makes this cruise ship stand out is the onboard attractions — yes, actual rides!

The ship’s Marvel Landing area is on its upper decks for guests “to experience hero-sized fun at our first adventure zone in the sea.” Marvel Landing will feature three new attractions, and we got the chance to ride Pym Quantum Racers. This ride puts you behind the wheel of a Pym Tech minicar for a “zip around a full-scale toy set track, navigating outsized and undersized obstacles along the way.”

The ride

As you can imagine, this is more of a ride targeted towards kids. There isn’t any REAL racing because Scott and Cassie Lang pretty much tell you there’s “no racing” during the intro. Here’s a look at the ride vehicle:

The ride also loads slowly because there are only seven cars, which means only seven people can ride at a time, unless children are riding with parents (which we didn’t really see).

Only 7 people can ride at a time

So, basically, you’ve got something a lot like Tomorrowland Speedway in Magic Kingdom or Autopia in Disneyland. This is a very slow-moving ride where you get about two laps around before the cars stop. We also noticed issues with the vehicles. They’re a little hard to steer, plus they sometimes stop. There are also occasional pile-ups, and the Cast Members have to push the cars around.

The cars aren’t very easy to drive

As we said, this is a ride targeted more to kids, and we don’t think adults are really going to get a lot out of it.

We will continue to bring you all the details and news on the Disney Adventure. Be sure you’re following AllEars.net so you don’t miss anything!
