Who’s in the mood for a pricey snack in Disney World?!

We’ve been to The Cake Bake Shop Bakery at Disney’s BoardWalk seemingly countless times since it opened in 2024, and we’re back yet again to try one of their pricey (but likely delicious) treats. Who’s with us?!
Recently, we went back to The Cake Bake Shop Bakery to try out their Red Velvet Cake for $22 a slice. Yes, that’s $22 a SLICE, but don’t worry, they’re honkin’ huge slices.

The menu describes this treat as: “Red velvet cake with Callebaut miniature chocolate chips. Filled with our signature cream cheese frosting, and frosted in a rosette pattern with pink vanilla buttercream.” It’s a three-tiered slice, and it’s definitely shareable.

But honestly? This is some of the best red velvet cake we’ve ever had. It was incredibly moist, and the chocolate flavor was rich and decadent. The chocolate chips give that extra burst of chocolate flavor, and the cream cheese complements well with a bit of tanginess and brightness. The cake itself was incredibly moist.

Our one complaint here is that the cake isn’t exactly packaged for easy snacking. If you’re ordering from the take-away bakery, it doesn’t come with a real plate — just a sheet of plastic to sit the slice on inside the box. Also, we were given a pretty cheesy spork as our utensil. For better utensils and a plate, you’d have to walk over to BoardWalk Deli.

We’d definitely order this cake again. We suppose if it’s in the name, they’ve got to do cake well!

Their cakes are amazing and each slice can easily satisfy 3 people (or 1 over multiple days).
