Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Changing Their Minds About This Souvenir

When it comes to Disney souvenirs, there’s been one that’s been tried and true for years…but now, things are changing.

Minnie Ears are a BIG deal

You wouldn’t think so by looking at the merchandise and souvenirs available in the Disney World parks or online, or even by looking at the photos people post on social media, because, more often times than not, they’ve got a pair of Minnie ears on. However, if you actually talk to people, like we did with members of our team? There’s a big shift on Minnie ears, and we’ve gotta admit…we’re not surprised a problem that’s been happening for years is finally catching up with the company.

There are SO many different designs of Minnie Ears out there, and don’t get us wrong, we love that! But there’s one thing they almost all have in common that doesn’t seem to get much better — they HURT!

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Ear Headband

It’s true! We can’t tell you how many times we’ve walked into the parks with a pair of ears on that totally match our outfit, or that we just bought and we want to show off, but within a few hours, we’ve got a headache from them. Sometimes, this headache can’t be solved by painkillers as long as you still have the ears on, because they’ll continue to squeeze and put pressure on your head. There’s really no way to solve this, except for keeping them on and dealing with the pain (which can severely make your day less fun, and no one wants that — the ears were expensive, yes, but you know what was more expensive? Your park ticket.), or taking them off and not getting to show them off.

Flower and Garden Ears

Now, there are some Loungefly bags that have a specific clip to use to keep your ears connected to the bag so they don’t get lost, and you can also take breaks with them on without needing to smush them into your bag. If your Loungefly bag doesn’t have it, or you’re using another bag, there are also additional clips you can buy online, which we find super helpful, but there’s something else we think you should consider as well — there are more comfortable ears online that are also much cheaper.

Minnie Ears

These ODOCARE Minnie Ears look almost identical to the ones you can find in the parks, but the only exterior change is that the band itself has some loose fabric on the band. This makes them more comfortable, but it also makes them look slightly cheaper.

The headband is a little thick!

The headband itself is a little thick, however, as a whole, these ears are MUCH lighter and don’t squeeze your head in the same way. We didn’t struggle with them hurting our heads at all all day, and that was a big win. They’re absolutely adorable, go with tons of different outfits, and while there aren’t a bunch of different designs available, you can find versions with almost any color bow you could want. Not to mention that these are only $10, when ears in the parks are easily $30+ on the lower side.

The backside

Truly, we can’t say how much we love and recommend these! If you’re not sure you’ll like Minnie Ears and don’t want to pay a fortune to buy something you won’t use (I’ve been there too many times), this is a great way to try them out at a lower price point.
