Booking a Disney World Hotel Just Got SO Much Easier

If you’ve felt overwhelmed when trying to plan and book your Disney World hotel, you are not alone, and AllEars is here to help!

Grand Floridian Resort

With more than two dozen Disney Resorts to pick from, each offering hundreds of guest rooms, choosing where to stay can feel overwhelming. On top of that, Disney uses a wide range of room categories, often with similar-sounding names but very different features and perks, which only adds to the confusion. It’s a lot to sort through. Luckily, we’re longtime Disney World experts who’ve spent decades staying at these resorts, and we’re here to make it all easy to understand.

Value Resorts

First, we’ve got to mention the Value Resorts (other than Art of Animation). These rooms are the easiest to explain. There is an outlier — the family suites at All-Star Music Resort, which are typically the cheapest option on the property for a larger family (outside of staying in a camper or tent at Fort Wilderness). Pop Century Resort has the most room categories of the bunch, but it’s no surprise, considering that one is usually the most popular. These hotel rooms don’t offer as much as the other categories, but they fit well in a tighter budget.

The cheapest options!

Art of Animation

I would set the Art of Animation Resort rooms somewhere between Moderate and Value Resorts in terms of price. This resort is known for its themed suites. This hotel is a favorite for kids because of its Disney theming with large characters outside of the buildings and incredible details inside the rooms. These are a good choice for a family of 6 that doesn’t fit into a traditional hotel room made for 4 people.

They have themed suites here.

Moderate Resorts

Moving up to Moderate Resorts, where there are a few more options. Coronado Springs Resort is broken up into the Gran Destino Tower and the Village rooms. The tower is much more convenient but comes with a higher price tag. When it comes to the other moderate resorts, these properties are larger, so rooms tend to be spread out more. This is important to know when booking, that a preferred room for a close-to-the-lobby location can be a huge timesaver.

These are simpler than the deluxe hotels.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Room types are fairly standard across most of the Deluxe Resorts, but there are a couple of hotels that stand out. The first of those is Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House. This resort has several different room views to choose from, with the savanna view rooms being the most coveted here because you can see live safari animals from your hotel. This hotel doesn’t have the best location or transportation options, so staying in a savanna view room is arguably its biggest draw.

Several views to choose from.

Contemporary

The other Deluxe Resort that we broke down specifically is the Contemporary Resort. This hotel is broken up into the Main Tower and the Garden Wing, so make sure you know where you’re booking when you choose your room. Staying in the Garden Wing gives you a bit more seclusion, while staying in the Main Tower offers more convenience for shopping, dining, and transportation. It’s all about your personal preference at this resort.

Disney Vacation Club Resorts

Now on to some of Disney World’s most expensive properties. The Disney Vacation Club Resorts are not just for Disney Vacation Club members, and anyone can book these rooms, though DVC members get priority. Their room types are fairly standard across the DVC Resorts and the hotels that have DVC sections or buildings. One of the best things about these hotel rooms is that from the Deluxe Studio level and above, you get a kitchenette or kitchen included. One-bedroom rooms and above also have a washer and dryer unit, which can be huge for large parties or longer stays. These are usually great for large families or those looking to spend more time in the room.

A breakdown!

Specialty Room Types

There are also specialty room types that are offered at select locations around Disney World, and these will come with a hefty price tag. You’ll find most of these at Deluxe Resorts across the property, and if you’ve got the budget, they can be bucket list stays! Some of these options are great for larger groups, splitting the cost of accommodations. The catch is, these rooms tend to go a lot faster than the regular ones, so you have to commit early and quickly!

Some of Disney World’s fanciest!

Deciding which room type and what resort can feel like a lot of pressure, but we hope these charts make it easier for you. For more Disney tips and news, be sure to follow us at AllEars.net.
