Six Unspoken Rules for Disney World in 2026

Planning a Disney World trip is always exciting, but 2026 is shaping up to be a year of big changes. I know that I and others here at AllEars have talked to many of you about whether you should go to Disney World in 2026 at all!

From ride refurbishments to construction to new experiences, navigating the parks will require some extra strategy if you want to make the most of your vacation. But that certainly doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go! With so many updates, there are going to be some new unspoken rules to keep in mind. These are the rules we’re using to maximize our time, energy, and enjoyment in the parks in 2026 — and we think you should abide by them, too.

1. Don’t Sleep on Flight of Passage Lightning Lane

Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Dinosaur will officially be out of the picture starting February 2nd, 2026. We’re probably going to skip buying Lightning Lane Multi Pass here because the attractions left open usually have pretty manageable wait times.

But that makes Flight of Passage an even bigger hotspot! Guests will be heading straight to Pandora’s iconic ride at rope drop, and that means lines could get insanely long early in the day. Plus, the Lightning Lane Single Pass for Flight of Passage is expected to sell out fast, especially with more people using it as their top must-do for the day.

If this is your “cannot miss” attraction, it’s worth splurging. Booking the Lightning Lane Single Pass in advance ensures you don’t waste precious vacation hours in line. Think of it as buying a little peace of mind: You can ride Flight of Passage, then use your remaining park time to explore Pandora or relax in shaded areas without stressing about missing your chance. For fans who want to experience this jaw-dropping ride without the long waits, this tip could save hours.

2. Stop for the New Streetmosphere at Hollywood Studios

One of the most exciting 2026 additions is the new Streetmosphere at Hollywood Studios. Muppets Courtyard is permanently closed to make way for the all-new Monstropolis. Animation Courtyard remains closed for renovations, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster will go down sometime in early 2026 to change over to the Muppets. That means you might need to look for some “extras” to fill out your day in this park!

So, Disney has introduced some new “streetmosphere,” or wandering live entertainment. Stop and watch when you see it!What’s great about this experience is that it’s perfect for those who love the little details. Plus, it’s a fantastic opportunity for photos and live interactions that make you feel like part of the story. Disney has recently added a juggler in the “That’s a Record” show near Echo Lake, and a new swing band in front of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!

3. The Best Ice Cream Is Not Where You Think

If you’re hunting for ice cream at Disney World, you might not immediately think of Pepe, the Spanish-inspired quick service attached to Jaleo. But this hidden gem is producing some of the freshest soft serve in the parks. Sure, it’s basic chocolate and vanilla, but the creamy texture and fresh taste make it stand out.

Pepe is also worth a visit for the unique menu. Between pastries, sandwiches, and Spanish-inspired entrees, you can enjoy a full meal and then top it off with a little sweet treat. For anyone wanting a quieter dining experience away from the crowds or an unexpected ice cream stop, Pepe is perfect. Bonus: if you’re traveling with kids who may be picky eaters, the simple yet high-quality soft serve here tends to be a crowd-pleaser.

Another spot you’re overlooking for ice cream is Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs. While Pepe is excellent for the basic flavors, you’ll find more unique choices — like Amaretto, Biscoff, or Rice Pudding Gelato.

And don’t overlook the 21+ menu here — you can get a spritz with Raspberry Sorbetto and Prosecco, and they even make one of the more unique menu items in all of Disney World — beer ice cream! OK, so it’s a sorbetto made with Corona and Lime, but close enough!

4. Waze Tips for Disney Driving

Disney parking can be tricky, and using the wrong GPS instructions can land you somewhere you definitely don’t want to be. Here’s the tip: When using Waze, type in “PARKING” after your destination, like “Magic Kingdom Parking,” not just “Magic Kingdom Park.” One friend learned this the hard way, ending up directed to a Cast Member-only backstage area. Using the correct wording ensures you’re guided to the guest-friendly entrance and can start your park day stress-free.

If you’re driving around Disney World, this tiny adjustment in search terms can save a ton of time, frustration, and circling the parking lot. Think of it as a secret hack that not many guests know about, but can drastically improve your arrival experience.

5. Early Entry at Hollywood Studios Is a Game-Changer

When Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster goes down for refurbishment until summer 2026, Slinky Dog Dash will be the hot-ticket ride for Tier 1 Lightning Lane. That means it could be even harder to get a Lightning Lane pass, and wait times will skyrocket. The solution? Early Theme Park Entry for Disney hotel guests. Arriving before rope drop allows you to ride Slinky Dog Dash with minimal wait, giving you more flexibility for the rest of the day.

The key here is planning. Make sure you’re at Hollywood Studios early and have your Lightning Lane selections ready to maximize your time. When you use Early Entry, you’ll get to enjoy the park before the crowds hit, snap some photos without hundreds of strangers in the background, and maybe even snag that coveted morning snack before the lines form.

6. Hunt Down Your Favorite Snacks

With DinoLand permanently closing to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, some favorite Disney snacks are moving locations. For example, the Restaurantosaurus menu — heavy on classics like burgers, fries, and chicken tenders — will be relocated to Harambe Market. Trilo-Bites and Dino-Bite Snacks will permanently close on October 20th. Our beloved Buffalo Chicken Chips from Trilo-Bites will move to Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island.

And you’ll be able to find the Dole Whip floats from Trilobites at Warung Outpost.

The silver lining? Relocating some snacks consolidates quality and makes the experience more organized. Knowing where your favorite foods will be in advance is a small planning win that can pay off big when hunger strikes. Think of it as a scavenger hunt for grown-ups, and it’s always more fun when you know exactly what you’re looking for.
