REVIEW: We Can’t Believe More People Aren’t Talking About This Germany Pavilion Restaurant at EPCOT

Where do you dine in Disney World when you’re looking for great food, authentic live entertainment, AND an unbelievable value for the price? It’s simple — we’re heading to one of our favorite Disney World restaurants for lunch, and we don’t think you’ll be disappointed after our visit!

Biergarten

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Biergarten at EPCOT and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

Every day is an Oktoberfest celebration at Biergarten, and they’re inviting diners to come along for all the fun!

Remember, we’re here for a celebration, and that means the tables here are large, so you may be seated with other parties.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

Inside the restaurant, you’ll be escorted to your seat by the host, and your server will come around to greet you after you’ve been seated.

Large tables

The dining room is set up in a semi-circle arrangement with a lively stage at the center focal point directly in view of everyone’s tables. Here’s where you’ll find a German “oompah band,” Oktoberfest Musikanten, entertaining you intermittently throughout your meal with folk music and dancing. They especially love it when there’s an opportunity for the audience to participate, so don’t be shy and listen for your chance to chime in!

At the center top of the room is where you’ll find the buffet stations that repeat on each side and meet in the middle, where you’ll find a wide array of authentic German food, salads, rotisserie chicken, and select desserts.

Buffet

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

First things first, a meal here at lunch will cost you $49 for an adult and $28 for children ages 3-9. Most of the food and drinks are covered in the buffet pricing; however, there are additional beers and wines you can add on to your meal, which will cost you extra.

Of course, there is PLENTY of sausage, potatoes, and sauerkraut.

Lots of German food!

You’ll also find more eats like pork schnitzel, macaroni and cheese, steamed veggies, and more potatoes.

Buffet options

There is a variety of cold salads, including German potato salad, macaroni salad, tomato salad, Caesar salad, and more.

Cold salad options

It wouldn’t be a German restaurant without pretzel rolls, and you can get those here, too!

Pretzel bread

You’ll also find salmon, sauteed green beans, and roasted chicken.

Of course, there is all the spaetzle you could ever want here, too!

In addition, there is bone-in fried chicken, meatballs, gravy, and salmon.

We’re not kidding when we say there is a LOT of food to try here, and we haven’t even gotten to the desserts yet!

Veggies and red cabbage

Speaking of which, yes, that is an entire tray of apple strudel.

Apple Strudel

And if you’re not an apple person, there are plenty of other desserts like cookies, cupcakes, pudding, and more.

Desserts

Since this is a buffet, we picked up a little something to show off all they have to offer here!

Kicking things off with the pork schnitzel — which our reporter is typically not a fan of, but she enjoyed this! It was nicely breaded — crispy on the outside with a nice, meaty flavor. You have plenty of sauce options, like sweet and regular mustard, applesauce, ketchup, and gravy.

The pretzel bread is so soft and fluffy, and it goes SO well with the beer cheese soup. The baked mac and cheese is excellent — creamy and delicious, gooey and a little greasy. We found the tomato salad quite refreshing, with a vinegar dressing and onions.

The veal pot roast was so incredibly tender — it fell apart just like a regular pot roast would. There were tender carrots and a delicious, rich gravy.

A little of everything

We tried plenty of desserts, of course! The chocolate cupcake wasn’t anything to write home about — it was pretty standard. The apple strudel was divine, especially when we drizzled some of the vanilla sauce on top.

Dessert!

The salted caramel cheesecake bite with the pretzel on top was probably our favorite of them all. It had a nice crunch of the pretzel, but the inside was creamy and tasted just like a salted caramel cheesecake.

Lots of dessert

To drink, we picked up the Warsteiner Dunkel, which is $18.75 for a liter of beer.

Warsteiner Dunkel

This is a classic German-style dark pilsner with a smooth, toasty malt flavor and mocha notes. It almost tastes like an espresso with its bitter notes, but it’s very enjoyable. It is a heavier beer, and if you’re looking for something lighter, we’d opt for something else. It’s also a LOT of beer, so keep that in mind!
