Did Disney Just Tease A NEW Star Wars Animatronic?

New technology! A new SUSPENDED COASTER! A new rally race ride! Disney just released a TON of new information at the SXSW conference, and we’re still trying to process all the news.

On top of all that, we got a LOT of Star Wars updates. We learned more about the storyline changes coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. We learned about new droids coming soon. Wait a minute, though — is that a NEW animatronic Disney subtly just introduced, too?

During Disney’s panel discussion about its BDX droids finally coming to Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris, there was another animatronic that almost went unnoticed.

Yep, that IS a new animatronic! This is Otto (an Anzellon) and he repairs BDX droids, similar to Babu Frik from The Rise of Skywalker.

We’re hoping Otto will show up with the BDX droids in Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris, though Disney did not confirm this news. For now, look for him in The Mandalorian and Grogu movie.

He’s pretty sassy from what we heard, so if you hear him muttering at you, don’t worry; he’s like that with everyone.

We loved seeing the BDX droids walk around on stage and can’t wait to see how they’ll interact with guests in the parks later this year. We don’t have any exact dates for when we’ll see them arrive, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on what we see.
