CELEBRITY ALERT! A MAJOR Football Star Paid a Visit to Disney World Days Before the Super Bowl

Just days before the Super Bowl, one of the most prominent sports and celebrity personalities on the periphery of this year’s game — Jason Kelce — took in the sights of Disney World with his famous family!

Celebrities have been visiting Disney’s theme parks from the start, with everyone from actors and politicians to sports icons and music superstars making highly publicized visits to Disney’s parks since Disneyland opened in 1955. However, few have done so when they’re right in the middle of the pop culture conversation, like Kelce.

On February 5th, the official DisneyParks social media accounts account posted a series of photos with retired NFL superstar turned media personality Jason Kelce, his wife, podcaster Kylie Kelce (who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, their other three children (Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 23 months) as well as Jason’s mom Donna Kelce (AKA Mama Kelce) posing in front of Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life…

… and horsing around a bit with Chip & Dale. Kelce even wore a safari hat of his own in the photos.

Following their visit to Disney World, the Kelces will be on their way on their way to New Orleans to attend Super Bowl LIX on February 9th. However, the kids won’t be joining the couple at the game. As Kyle explained on the Today Show earlier this week, “The logistics of travel, school and childcare were just too overwhelming. They don’t also really watch football in a way that they would enjoy being in the stadium for the duration of the Super Bowl.”

The Kelces, and Jason in particular, have strong ties to both teams in the game. He spent his (likely future Hall of Fame) NFL career with this year’s NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he won Super Bowl LII. In other words, Kielce should easily be rooting for Philadelphia in the game, right? Well, not quite.

See, opposing the Eagles are the AFC Champion (and two-time defending Super Bowl Champion) Kansas City Chiefs, who happen to feature Jason’s brother, tight end Travis Kelce (who has become a darling media personality himself thanks to his highly publicized relationship with music megastar Taylor Swift) as one of their offensive stars. KC is looking for their 4th Super Bowl title in the last 6 years, a total that includes a previous victory over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

So, who is Jason rooting for in the Super Bowl? Well, on an episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast New Heights, after the matchup was struck, the former NFL center struck a diplomatic tune, saying, “I’ll always root for my brother. That’s the reality of it, alright? Even though I’m decked out in Eagles gear, I’m always going to root for Travis. No matter what, on game day, I’m going to be happy for one of those sides. And I’m going to be sad for the other side. I still feel like I am a Philadelphia Eagle and that I’m a part of all of these people that root and cheer on our team. I would be lying if I said I don’t want the Eagles to win. But I also want Travis Kelce to win.”

Meanwhile, Kylie added on her Not Gonna Lie podcast, “Travis has been there for his entire career/ He has worked so hard and put in so much time that I truly am, as always, cheering Travis on. I love him, he’s my family. So I will always cheer on Travis’ accomplishments and hopefully successes. That being said, I was raised to bleed green.”

Sounds like there might be some conflicted emotions in New Orleans on Sunday. Perhaps no matter who wins, the whole Kelce/Swift party can both celebrate victory and commiserate on defeat with a return trip to Disney World following the big game.
