Not all Disney World restaurants are created equally, even if they are located at one of the fanciest hotels at Disney World.
We go to Disney World every day, which means naturally, we dine at Disney World every day and have learned that just because a restaurant is in a nice location and has a high price tag, it does not always mean it is the best.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a Deluxe Resort that offers many benefits to vacationers. It is one of the most iconic Disney World resorts and has stunning views of the Magic Kingdom, Cinderella Castle, and the Fireworks. You can take a boat, the Monorail, or even walk to the Magic Kingdom, making it the prime hotel location.
It is also home to the Wedding Pavilion, and if you visit or stay at the Grand Floridian, you may see a wedding party or two! Besides its prime location, the Grand Floridian has SO MANY dining options. From character meals, quick service, table service, a lounge, and elegant fine dining, there is almost something for everyone at this hotel.
We recently dined at Narcoossee’s and loved it! Our team has even had the opportunity to get all dressed up to dine at Victoria and Albert’s. Plus, 1900 Park Fare recently re-opened, bringing even more dining options to the resort.
Did you know that you, too, can leave your reviews of Disney World on AllEars.net? You can leave and read reviews about attractions, restaurants, entertainment, and hotels. While we were going through our readers’ reviews, one restaurant caught our eye: Citricos.
Citicos is located on the second floor of the main lobby building, just past Basin White. This restaurant was recently redone in 2021 and added touches from the film Mary Poppins. Keep an eye out for Mary’s Carpet Bag, photos of Cherry Tree Lane and more fun details throughout! While the theming here is cute, some readers were underwhelmed when they dined there.
Citricos Restaurant
Services: Table Service
One reviewer gave Citricos 6 out of 10 stars and said, “The theming is subtle but cute. It was fun finding all the Mary Poppins pieces. Our server also wasn’t the best which may have attributed to not loving this restaurant. Everyone has off days, but it was the worst service I’ve ever had at a Disney restaurant. I would suggest just walking through the restaurant to see the props or maybe have drinks.”
Another reviewer gave this spot a five out of 10 stars. They said, “The Grand Floridian is obviously a stunning resort, and Citricos is too. However, my family was really underwhelmed with the dishes. The decor and location carry this restaurant’s high remarks, not the food. The dishes were bland and dry, especially the chicken. This restaurant is not worth the hype at all!”
Another reviewer wrote, “I choose not to recommend this restaurant because, overall, it is too expensive for the quality of the food, and the chef is overly ambitious and his dishes are too complicated. We felt let down after our meal.” The reviewer ended up giving the restaurant 7 out of 10 stars.
If you have a dining reservation for Citricos on your upcoming trip, don’t stress too much, as some reviewers enjoyed their dining experience at Citricos.
A reviewer gave Citricos 10 out of 10 stars and said that they “enjoyed everything about the restaurant. The staff is fabulous. All of our dishes were great.” Another positive review that was left said, “This is, beyond a doubt, one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. The Mary Poppins decor is very beautiful and not super in your face.”
Overall, we think this reviewer sums it up best with their seven out of ten-star review. They commented that the main con of Citricos is that “this restaurant is more of a one-and-done affair. It is pricey.”
Our team is on a mission to eat everything at Disney World so let us know if you would be interested in the All Ears team visiting Citricos. As always, stay tuned to AllEars.net for more Disney tips, news, and updates! And don’t forget that you, too, can leave a review of your own on our site!
