PHOTOS: First Look at Disney World’s Reopened (and Rethemed!) Citricos

We’ve been keeping track of all the restaurants that have reopened in Disney World since last year. And, while many have already opened back up to guests, there are still quite a few that remain.

Grand Floridian Lobby

So far this month, we’ve seen  ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village ResortPlaza Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom, and Dino Diner at Disney’s Animal Kingdom reopen. And, now another popular Disney World Resort restaurant is BACK to serving up dinner!

As of today, July 15th, Citricos has officially reopened in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with a completely new look and menu! So, we headed over to check it out.

Let’s head on in!

We’re taking you along with us on this adventure, so let’s go!

Atmosphere

When we first arrived, we checked in through the My Disney Experience app and, when our table was ready, a Cast Member led us into the reimagined space!

Wow! This place looks fantastic!

We love the casual yet upscale atmosphere in here. You may be seated at a traditional table, or you might be seated in a more relaxed lounge-type area.

It’s a very big restaurant.

Just imagine kicking back and enjoying a fine meal with this view!

The contrasting patterns and textures in the upholstery are extra fun. It all works together so well!

How beautiful is this pattern?

The updated decoration is themed after Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, and if you look around you can recognize some subtle reminders from the movie.

The artwork matches the film!

We even spotted some of Mary’s belongings! There are so many fun hidden details around this place.

The new decor features luxury materials, from velvet chairs to marble tabletops. It definitely matches the mood of the restaurant!

We love this atmosphere!

Even our napkins were fancy. 😉

The table settings are beautiful.

We also stopped to take a look at the Wine Room. This area isn’t open yet, but we noticed some Mary Poppins artwork and features in here as well. (The light fixtures remind us of umbrellas!)

The Wine Room

We’d definitely love to come back here and dine when this room reopens.

The dining room is designed to feel like a “fanciful garden” and all of the light fixtures have been updated to include decorative lamps and chandeliers.

Look how pretty the lights are!

They really got into the details here!

Even the bar area has been updated with a new look!

We wouldn’t mind dining here!

Menu

Once seated, we were actually given a paper menu! All of the appetizers, soups, and salads have been combined into one “First Course” section on the menu and you can find some new offerings including Sweet Corn BisqueStrawberry Salad, and Smoked Duck Breast.

Regular menu

As for the main course, you’ll also find that the options have received a major overhaul with new entrees like Butter-poached Florida Cobia, Guava Barbequed Short Ribs, and House-made Rigatoni.

And, if you’d like a little bit extra to go with your meal, you can choose from three “enhancements” (or sides) including Truffle Macaroni & Cheese, Smoked Cauliflower, and Grilled Marble Potatoes.

We were also given a beverage menu. The front side shows champagne, white, and red wine options.

Beverage menu

The backside of the menu features specialty cocktails, beer, and cider. There are so many options to choose from!

You definitely won’t go thirsty here!

Currently, Citricos is only open on Wednesdays to Sundays from 5PM to 9:30PM daily for dinner and you can make your reservations 60 days in advance. Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more reopening news in Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

  1. Looks lovely. My favorite restaurant at the GF. I’m pleased to see they didn’t mess with it too much, even kept the name. Although, once again, they inserted (albeit subtly) references to an IP. They seriously need to get off that kick. Disney has a bad habit of “fixing” what was never broken to begin with. Can’t wait too see what the food is like when I visit in Sept!
