Help! Gen Z and Millennial Disney Adults Won’t Stop Fighting Over This Disney World Question

Alright, people. Step up to your podiums. We’re getting ready for a good old-fashioned debate — Disney style. Now, we know you Disney fans have strong opinions about paid Lightning Lanes. Everyone has an opinion on the “left vs right” EPCOT World Showcase debate. But today, we’re here to talk about something else: Millennials. Oh, and Gen Z.

Time for a Gen Z vs Millennials debate!

The question that is up for debate: who plans a BETTER Disney World vacation? Let’s get ready to rumble!

On the one side, we have Gen Z Disney Adults. Now, you may have heard varying things depending on who you ask, but most people agree that Gen Z refers to people who were born between 1997 and 2013.

Gen Z consists of a pretty wide range of people!

So, what do Gen Z Disney fans do on vacation?

Photoshoots!

Alright, this may sound like a stereotype, but hey. We’ve seen it happen. A LOT. Most Gen Z Disney Adults probably have an Instagram account, which probably means they’re going to post about their vacation.

But Gen Z is creative. Sure, we all love a good old Cinderella Castle picture. But you may also see Gen Z Disney Adults looking for unique photo spots. Posing next to a bathroom? Hey — if the wall is cute, why not?

Tangled Bathrooms

Gift shop facades, ride queue exits…you name it! Gen Z isn’t afraid to stop for a little photoshoot. And, no offense, Disney PhotoPass photographers, but most Gen Z Disney Adults prefer to take their own pictures.

Snack Time!

When you live in a world where Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, Dole Whip, and Poutine exist, why bother wasting time in a sit-down restaurant? In our experience, Gen Z adults prefer to snack around the parks. Plus, it’s (probably) cheaper if you’re using Disney math.

We’re not saying Gen Z hates normal restaurants, but sometimes, it’s simply more fun to grab smaller snacks and pop from place to place throughout the day!

When you have a whole checklist full of things you want to try, this is the way to go. Trust us.

Drinking Around the World!

Gen Z is juuuust the right age to be able to drink around the world (showcase). Most older adults probably don’t feel the need to spend that kind of time (and money) on a whole lineup of drinks in EPCOT.

But Gen Z Disney Adults often go to Disney World with friends, so drinking around the world becomes a lot more manageable when a group of people can share drinks and leisurely stroll through the park.

There are SO MANY fun foods and drinks to try in EPCOT, and Gen Z adults tend to prioritize experiences, like a walk around the World Showcase, over attractions. Especially in the evening!

Now, it’s time for Team Millennial to step up. Again, the years may be a little fuzzy — even the internet can’t seem to make up its mind, but the general age range for Millennials is those born between 1981–1999. Ish. So, what do Millennials like to do in Disney World?

Pool Day!

Know what’s nice? A day at the pool. A nice, relaxing day free of lines, bus stops, and excessive sweat. Millennials aren’t afraid to dedicate a day of their vacation to pure relaxation.

Some people may disagree with this strategy, but others know that sometimes, a little rest and relaxation is needed. Especially after a busy day in the parks!

Treat Yourself!

OK, so remember how we said Gen Z likes to snack around the parks? Well, Millennials are often more inclined to splurge on a nice, quality sit-down meal. Maybe a dinner at Topolino’s Terrace? A breakfast at ‘Ohana? Worth it!

Millennials like to do their research before a vacation. And the first thing on their list? All the best places to eat! If you’re traveling to Disney World with a Millennial, you’ll likely be treated to some nice meals.

Packing Experts!

Millennials know a thing or two about travel. They’ve had enough experience to know what can reasonably fit in a carry-on suitcase. They know all the little packing tips and tricks to consolidate things in luggage. You won’t catch a Millennial with an overweight suitcase — they’re strategic when it comes to packing.

That’s not a lot of space!

Sure, it may mean sacrificing a pair of shoes. Yes, they may have to ditch a pair of Minnie ears or two. Millennials take great pride in navigating the airport with ease, and having a good packing strategy is a big part of it.

Who plans a better vacation?

OK, now, for the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the winner. Well, here’s the thing. It depends! If you love a relaxing trip to Disney World, filled with big, luxurious meals and late nights at the lounge, you’re probably Team Millennial.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto

But, if you like a fun, fast-paced trip with friends, you might be Team Gen Z. If you can comfortably ride three back-to-back thrill rides without hesitation, the Gen Z way might be for you!

But hey, there’s no shame in preferring a leisurely vacation, where slow, dark rides like the PeopleMover are about as much as you are willing to take. In the battle of Millennials VS Gen Z, there’s no “right” answer — everyone’s planning strategy is different! But what do YOU think? Let us know in the comments!

  1. SCORE for GenZers on this one. I am far from this generation by years, but I believe they have it in the bag. Talk about reinventing the vacation algorithm. This generation is not stuck in the “this is the way we’ve always done it” realm. Instagram and TikTok provide some creative hurdles to get over, but that’s the fun. To look at it in a new way. Point for Gen Z!

  2. Too bad posing for Instagram doesn’t make planning for a Disney trip any better. Sorry, but GenXers plan the best!
