NEWS: An ENTIRE Land and 3 Rides Are Closing EARLY in Magic Kingdom Today

One of our biggest rules about Disney World is to always expect the unexpected.

That’s because there are so many elements that go into a Disney World vacation, and we hate to break it to you, but something is probably going to go awry! That’s why we say to remain flexible, and if you’re in Magic Kingdom today, you’ll need to do just that!

It’s been a BIG day for Magic Kingdom news. First of all, Disney just announced the opening date for the new Country Bear Jamboree show! It will officially debut on July 17th, 2024, and feature popular Disney songs in different styles of country music.

We also got a first look at the new logo and some new costumes. Let’s just say, we’re counting down the days until we get to go inside!

But that’s not why we’re here right now. This information was revealed at a media event inside Magic Kingdom (which is why the Hall of Presidents is currently closed) and the event is impacting another attraction as well. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closing EARLY on June 10th.

The popular coaster is set to close at 4:30PM, so if you’re in Magic Kingdom, you have until then to ride. Additionally, the rest of Frontierland will close at 5PM. A sign was out notifying visitors about the change.

After we saw the sign in the park, we got a notification on our phones from the My Disney Experience app. This notes that the Walt Disney World Railroad and Liberty Square Riverboat will be closing at 5PM as well.

Magic Kingdom is not set to close until 11PM, so there are plenty of other attractions to check out! If you’re looking for a thrill similar to Big Thunder, we recommend hopping in line for Space Mountain or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
