Magic Kingdom Is Having a Seriously ROUGH Morning

No matter how much you plan, things can still go awry on your Disney World trip.

A show could be canceled, you could miss out on that popular restaurant reservation, and even worse — the ride you’ve been looking forward to is temporarily closed! It can happen to anyone, and folks in Magic Kingdom today are experiencing it firsthand.

Magic Kingdom is having a bit of a rough morning! On March 20th, several attractions were temporarily closed within just an hour of the park opening.

Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel were all temporarily closed at one point. According to the My Disney Experience app, all four rides are still temporarily closed.

This can happen for any number of reasons — the attraction could be having technical difficulties, someone may have dropped something on the track that needs to be picked up, or someone could have gotten sick on the ride, you name it.

Typically, these closures don’t last for an extended period of time as Cast Members work hard to get the rides back up and running again quickly. But, we have seen a temporary closure last all day depending on what the cause is.

If you’re in Magic Kingdom today, don’t panic! Keep an eye on the MDE app for the most up-to-date information about wait times and ride closures. More often than not, the ride will open back up later in the day and you’ll have another chance to ride!
