We have news that makes us even MORE excited to sail away with Disney Cruise Line.

It wasn’t too long ago that Disney announced their newest tropical destination with Disney Cruise Line: Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, located in Eleuthera, Bahamas. The all-new island destination looks like it will be a splendid new addition to the list of Disney Cruise Line sailing options. Currently, Lookout Cay is set to open in summer 2024. Now, we’re getting a first look at something else that will be debuting there, and we really need summer to hurry up!
Disney Cruise Line sailers are in for a treat when they see Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s new outfits! Both are getting updated costumes that will debut with their appearance at Lookout Cay.

Their new looks were specially designed by the celebrated Bahamian fashion designer, Theodore Elyett. It’s easy to see that each of the respective outfits will have a distinct Bahamian flair, inspired by bright colors, and the spirit of Junkanoo — which is the country’s signature festival filled with upbeat music and colorful, vibrant parades.

“The beauty of Mickey and Minnie’s looks are that they are literally ‘Junkanoo Fun in the Sun,” Elyett said. “When you talk about the print, pattern, color, texture of Junkanoo, they’ve got that.”

Elyett’s artistic creations drew inspiration from the beauty of his homeland and intend to reflect the culture and colorful hues of island life. You’ve probably seen his designs worn by Miss Universe contestants, celebrities, brides, cover girls, and government officials. Soon, though, Mickey and Minnie will join those who rep Elyett’s work.

But that’s not all! Be on the lookout when you visit Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, because Mickey and Minnie’s looks will be part of a collection of colorful works of art by local creators. OH, and Elyett will also be designing special outfits for Donald and Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.
