When it comes to Walt Disney World, you have a LOT of choices to make. Where to eat, what to do…

… and where to stay! With over 20 different Disney resorts on Walt Disney World property, which are the best for adults?!

We combed our way through all of the Disney resort details to find the best options for adults. Now as you’re making your decision on which of our top picks are right for YOU, you’ll need to assess your own Disney vacation goals.

Cinderella Castle

What is your budget? How long will you be in Disney World? Which parks will you be spending most of your time in? Will you spend most of your time at the parks or at your resort? Having these answers will help you narrow down which of these options will best suit your vacation dreams.

VALUE

First up, the value resorts! These resorts are the least expensive and are known for their over the top Disney theming. These are popular resorts for families and touring school groups, so which of these options will come out on top for adults?

Pop Century

Pop Century still has those larger than life icons throughout the resort, but it’s fun for adults to walk down memory lane of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s and all of those fun pop culture nuggets from yesteryear. This resort is set on the Disney Skyliner route, so that makes it very convenient to get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and other resorts along the Skyliner line.

And though this resort is still popular among families, you’re less likely to find those large school groups at this resort.

MODERATE

Next up, the Moderate Resort throwdowns! These resorts offer more amenities than the Value Resorts but not as many (and at a lesser price point) than the Deluxe Resorts. The one resort that edges out the others is Coronado Springs Resort.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Guests staying at Coronado Springs will have access to some business class amenities including conference rooms, plenty of meeting spaces and lounges with tables, sofas, and ample wifi to get some work done in between conference sessions or in between park visits.

Gran Destino Tower Lower Lobby

The Gran Destino Tower has an elevated sophistication that you wouldn’t expect from a moderate resort, but all of the beautiful, immersive theming you’d expect from a Disney resort. Be sure to make time to appreciate all of the art of Spanish surrealism and Catalan Modernism.

And after you’ve soaked in all of the art and culture you might find in Barcelona or Madrid, you can visit one of many (or visit them all!) lounges at Coronado Springs and sip on specialty coffee drinks or custom cocktails, and all of that Spanish influenced food is sure to satisfy your cravings.

DELUXE

Now, we’re exploring the Disney World Deluxe Resorts (with a sprinkling of DVC). These are Disney’s most luxurious and expensive hotels. They have the most amenities and have the closest proximity to the Disney parks.

Each Deluxe resort is beautifully themed and hosts exquisite dining options. We could find reasons to justify any of these. But when we look at which of these deluxe resort themes might have a more adult theme, one stood out: Disney’s Yacht Club.

Disney’s Yacht Club is GORGEOUS

The Yacht Club has a great location! The Yacht Club is walking distance to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios (which is also easily accessible by boat or Skyliner). It is also a diner’s paradise! In addition to two theme parks, the Yacht Club is also within walking distance to the Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn, and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. Being so close to four additional deluxe resorts provides extensive dining and entertainment options.

The pool is its own water park, which is a great perk, but also a magnet for the families staying at the resort. The rooms are streamlined and sleek with subtle nautical themes which definitely appeal more to adults than to the kiddos.

VILLAS

Lastly, let’s look at the Disney Vacation Club accommodations. These rooms give you plenty of space and elbow room and works great for if you’re with a group of friends, a grown-up family reunion, or even a honeymoon or anniversary trip with some space to spare.

If your vacation plans have you lingering at the resort and and soaking up the amenities, then a DVC Villa might be just the ticket. You can find these options at most of the deluxe resorts, but there are also some stand-alone DVC resorts, like Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, and Disney’s Riviera.

Speaking of the Riviera, that is our choice for best adult resort among the DVC options! Disney’s Riviera Resort is Walt Disney World’s newest Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resort. Riviera Resort is the 15th DVC and the first stand-alone DVC to be built in over eight years.

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Riviera Resort offers five room types: Tower Studios, Deluxe Studios, 1-Bedroom villas, 2-Bedroom villas, and 3-Bedroom grand villas. Tower Studios are a first-of-their-kind room design for Walt Disney World and suit parties of two or fewer with a Murphy-style bed.

Riviera Resort also has the distinction of having a dedicated Skyliner station with direct access to Epcot, and can also use the Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios.

The Riviera Resort Tower Studio room only sleeps two!

So those are the top resorts in each category for adults. So, when planning your bachelorette party, your conference accommodations, or that long-awaited Disney escape, now you have the top options to consider for your perfect getaway.

  1. My boyfriend and I chose Yacht Club on our last trip because we felt it was more adult-oriented. The housekeeping there was terrible – we ran into a lot of problems so we will not be returning. We much prefer Swan & Dolphin next door.
