A Word of WARNING If You’re Visiting Magic Kingdom This Weekend

The time has come — Splash Mountain is getting ready to close permanently.

Splash Mountain

The ride officially closes on January 23rd, 2023 to make way for the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction. We’re getting ready to brace the crowds on Splash Mountain’s official last day, but it looks like they’ve already arrived!

We checked the My Disney Experience app to look at the wait times while we were in Magic Kingdom. That’s when we saw that the longest wait time in the park was over at Splash Mountain with a 2-hour wait time. For reference, the next highest wait time was 90 minutes at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

When we got there, we noticed TONS of guests were in line to catch one last ride on this attraction!

The line extended all the way through the outdoor queue.

Guests who used Genie+ to book a Lightning Lane had a pretty long line. It was so long that a Cast Member brought out the “Lightning Lane Enter Here” sign.

Tomorrow, January 22nd, is the official last day to ride Splash Mountain before it permanently closes, so this is your warning about visiting Magic Kingdom this weekend. We can expect to see crowds and wait times like this on January 22nd as well, so come prepared.

Stay tuned to AllEars for more updates from Splash Mountain’s final days in Disney World.
