Tiana's Bayou Adventure UPDATES, a New Look at the 'Moana' Attraction, and More Disney News You Missed!

It’s been a HUGE week for Disney, and it’s only about to get bigger.

This week alone marked the first Oogie Boogie Bash in Disneyland, as well as Disney+ Day. The weekend brings the D23 Expo, and last night we got our FIRST big news from the event!

FIRST LOOK at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

We had been crossing our fingers that we’d get new details on the Splash Mountain-replacement coming to both Disney World and Disneyland, and D23 did not disappoint! At a media preview of the Wonderful World of Dreams pavilion, Disney unveiled a model of the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure!

The model shows the same iconic mountain, but with some big changes for the new theme throughout!

The re-themed ride is set to open in late 2024, though Disney has not yet shared when the ride in its current iteration will be closing.

New Tiana-Themed Restaurant Coming to Disneyland

Along with a new look at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we also learned that a new restaurant would be coming to Disneyland!

Tiana’s Palace details

Tiana’s Palace will be opening in Disneyland with a “mouthwatering menu, exceptional entertainment, and warmhearted hospitality.” Not many details have been shared just yet, but we cannot wait to visit!

Disney also shared a brand new look at the reimagined Toontown coming to Disneyland!

First Look at Massive Te Fiti for Moana-Inspired Attraction

We’ve been keeping up with the latest construction updates for the Moana-inspired attraction coming to EPCOT, and we got a look at some new details shared by Disney!

Te Fiti

The attraction will feature a 16-foot tall Te Fiti, and Disney shared a scale model as part of the exhibit.

New Tiana-Themed Store Coming to Disneyland

Along with news of a new restaurant, Disney also shared that a Tiana-themed store will be coming to Disneyland!

An all-new retail store will be opening in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif., on Sept. 20, 2022, called Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets. Tiana is collaborating with her talented dressmaker mother, Eudora, to open this fantastic little shop, with accessories to create and serve masterful Orleans-style cuisine and more. Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets is set to open on September 20th, 2022 in New Orleans Square at Disneyland.

Disney+ Day

So there has been a lot going on for Disney+ Day all week, including some MAJOR deals and discounts on Disney vacations. First, Disney+ subscribers can save up to 20% on rooms at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels for stays most nights from December 11th to 25th, 2022. Also, on Disney+ Day (September 8th), subscribers got to enter the parks early!

There’s also a deal for Disney Cruise Line —Disney+ subscribers who book at least 2 full-fare guests in the same stateroom will be able to have the third and fourth guests in the same stateroom sail for FREE!

Other perks for subscribers include free Uber One for six months for free, as well as $25 off their first Uber Eats order.

Disney+ also surprised subscribers with the premiere of BTS Permission to Dance On Stage — LA, a concert film that documents the band’s live performance at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles last year. Meanwhile, both Thor: Love and Thunder and the live-action Pinocchio have premiered on the streamer.

Pricing Changed for Magical Express Replacement

It’s hard to believe Magical Express has been gone for nearly nine months now, but one of its replacements, the Sunshine Flyer, recently changed its prices. The service launched in February launched in with introductory rates of $17 one-way or $34 roundtrips for adults and $10 one-way or $20 roundtrip for children ages 3-12. This summer, the service offered a limited-time savings of $16 per adult for all trips and children rode for free.

That promotion has ended and the pricing for adult rides has changed. One-way trips for adults are now $16 for a one-way trip or $32 for a round trip, Children still cost $10 for a one-way trip or $20 for a roundtrip.

Oogie Boogie Bash

Disneyland’s Halloween party, Oogie Boogie Bash, has officially kicked off and we were there. The night’s entertainment includes the Frightfully Fun Parade, Villains Grove at The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, and loads of characters (including some new villains, Bruno, and Ernesto de la Cruz).

Here’s what to expect with crowds at the party, as well as where to find those rare villains and the trick-or-treat trails. We also enjoyed seeing guests’ costumes and checking out the party-exclusive merchandise.
