Whether you’re looking to have a relaxing vacation or an adventurous one, setting sail with the Disney Cruise Line can be a great option.

If you’ve been considering booking a trip, you might be wondering what exactly you need to know about the current COVID-19 testing and vaccination requirements on the ships. We’ve got an overview of what you need to know here, but Disney recently updated part of their COVID-19 policy, and we’ve got all the new details.
If you’re getting ready to set sail on a Disney cruise or are thinking about booking a trip — we’ve got news you can use!
Disney Cruise Line recently updated its COVID-19 vaccination policy as it pertains to kids. Previously, all guests ages 5 and up were required to be fully vaccinated at the time of sailing per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

Now, beginning September 2nd, 2022, for sailings departing U.S. and Canadian ports, Disney Cruise Line will require guests ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Disney Cruise Line is still strongly recommending that guests ages 11 and younger still be fully vaccinated before heading out on their trip, but it is no longer a requirement.

Keep in mind that all passengers must also provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within two days of their sailing. The test can be taken at the cruise terminal or before your visit as long as it’s taken under supervision (via in-person or a telehealth appointment). Unvaccinated guests ages 4 and under must be tested within three days prior AND at the terminal.

The CDC recently ended its COVID-19 cruise monitoring program, and several major cruise lines recently updated (or completely did away with) their testing and vaccination policies. You can read more about the requirements for each major cruise line here.

It’s a good idea to review your cruise line’s policies and prepare accordingly if you’ve got an upcoming cruise! Things are changing almost daily when it comes to the latest health and safety guidelines. Keep following AE for more Disney cruise tips and beyond.
