Not only are traditional character meet-and-greets back at the parks, but now character dining is returning to normal, too! Y’all, today we got to hug Chef Mickey.
Traditional meet-and-greets are back in Disney World. This means that autographs and hugs are back, and individual face-to-face meetings have returned. Socially distanced photos are slowly being phased out across the parks and resorts!
With this exciting news comes the return of traditional character dining experiences, which means that dining locations like Chef Mickey’s and Topolino’s Terrace no longer have social distancing restrictions. We visited one of the most popular character meals in Disney World, Chef Mickey’s, because who could pass up the chance to hug Chef Mickey?!
We headed over to this family-style restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for five BIG reasons: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto! (Plus, we were hungry…!)
Food AND hugs?? 🥞🤗

We saw the characters posing with guests for photos, signing their signatures into souvenir autograph books, and embracing ecstatic children (and adults!). It really has been so long since we were able to do this!
The food at Chef Mickey’s is still served family-style and the restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner only. In our experience, this restaurant is better known for the experience than the food, so, it’s definitely a plus that the experience is back to normal!
Chef Mickey’s is a super popular restaurant, so be sure to make your advanced dining reservation as soon as you are able to do so. Things are changing at Disney World all the time, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
