The 50th Anniversary Collectible Disney History Fans Absolutely NEED to See

On October 1st, 2021, Disney World began its 18-month long 50th anniversary celebration. This celebration has brought us new entertainment, snacks, and, of course, tons of new merchandise.

Dumbo 50th Anniversary Statue

We’ve seen a park map spirit jersey (with Crocs to match!), Coach Minnie ears, and even replicas of the golden 50th Anniversary statues scattered around the parks! Today, we spotted a new 50th Anniversary item and it’s one vintage fans will LOVE!

While we were perusing Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, we spotted vintage Disney World ticket coaster sets! As many of you know, back in the day, you had to pay for individual ticket types to get onto the rides in Disney World.

These tickets were broken up into five categories: A, B, C, D, and E. The phrase “E ticket” can still be heard today and is often used as a reference to the most popular attractions (think something like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance or Avatar Flight of Passage).

Each of the coasters in this set represents a real ticket you could have purchased at the Magic Kingdom in 1971 when the park opened.

Ticket coaster sets!

Disney is calling these “coasters,” but we think they’re more similar to decorative plates in terms of their size and style. There are five plates total, each designed to look like a different ticket level.

First, there’s the A Ticket, which would get you on either the Omnibus, the Horse-Drawn Street Cars, the Main Street Vehicles, or Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel. This is the smallest plate in the collection.

A Ticket

The B Ticket is the second smallest plate and would have been good for the Main Street Cinema, Frontierland Shootin’ Gallery, Mike Fink Keel Boats, or the Swiss Family Treehouse.

B Ticket

Next is the C Ticket plate. C Tickets would have been good for the Grand Prix Raceway, Dumbo, The Flying Elephant, Peter Pan’s Flight, Snow White’s Adventures, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Mad Tea Party, or Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes. Careful though, the canoes closed at dusk!

C-Ticket

D Tickets would have been good for the WDW Railroad, the Skyway (either to Fantasyland or Tomorrowland), Flight to the Moon, Country Bear Jamboree, The Hall of Presidents, or the Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat.

D Ticket

And finally an E Ticket would have gotten you access to “it’s a small world,” 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Mickey Mouse Revue, Jungle Cruise, Tropical Serenade, or The Haunted Mansion.

E Ticket

For only $24.99, you can get all five of these decorative plates. That’s a pretty good value considering some of the other EXPENSIVE 50th Anniversary items we’ve seen.

Again, we spotted these at Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures in Animal Kingdom, but you’ll want to look for them in other spots around Disney World as well., Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney news!
