PHOTOS: Magic Kingdom's Park Map Just Got an UPDATE

Technology is a major asset in Disney World, but sometimes we like a good old-fashioned paper map. After all, it’s useful AND a free souvenir!

Last week, Disney’s Hollywood Studios park maps got a BIG update, and today it was Magic Kingdom’s turn for a park map update! After some changes in Magic Kingdom recently, it makes sense for the maps to get a little makeover, and here’s what we found!

Although you can use the My Disney Experience app for an interactive map, including ride and entertainment wait times, restaurants, and more, sometimes it’s more fun to hold a park map in your hands! You can find park maps near the entrances of each park, and not long ago, this is what Magic Kingdom’s park map looked like, with Cinderella Castle on the front.

And here’s what the Magic Kingdom park maps look like today! Mickey is now on the front of the map, wearing his special 50th anniversary EARidescent costume, which you can see him wearing during Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade in Magic Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom park map got a little makeover!

On the inside of park maps, you’ll find a layout of the park as well as important information about current shows and attractions, and you can now read more about a few of the more recent additions to Magic Kingdom, like the Festival of Fantasy Parade, which just returned last week. You can also read about the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade and Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire!
