Why You May Hear Fireworks EXTRA Late Tonight in Disney World

Over the past few months, we’ve heard and seen fireworks testing taking place around Disney World! These tests are likely in anticipation of Disney Enchantment and Harmonious, which will both debut on October 1st.

With the start of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration just one week away, it’s time to put those finishing touches on Magic Kingdom and EPCOT’s new nighttime spectaculars — which means more fireworks testing is coming up!

If you’re in the Magic Kingdom area tonight, you may hear the sound of fireworks after the park operating hours! The Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page posted a notice today informing those in the immediate area surrounding Magic Kingdom that the sounds of fireworks may be heard between the hours of 11:30PM and 1AM.

The testing will also take place the evening of Saturday, September 25th. As a reminder, Happily Ever After will have its final performance on September 29th before Disney Enchantment premieres next Friday.

We’ll be on the lookout for any additional announcements from Disney World as they prepare to debut TWO new fireworks shows to celebrate its 50th Anniversary!
