A Shop, Two Attractions, and Four Hotels Impacted By Closures Next Week in Disney World

Disney World is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in just a few months and right now you can spot quite a few construction projects in the parks and resorts in preparation.

And, while some projects don’t require the attractions, shops, or resorts to close, others do and that’s why we keep you up to date on all those closures here at AllEars! So today, we’re bringing you an update on everything that will be unavailable from July 12th to July 18th, 2021 for refurbishment.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Walt Disney World Railroad

We’ve been keeping track of construction on the Walt Disney World Railroad in Magic Kingdom for over two years now, as ongoing construction on the new attraction, TRON: Lightcycle Run, is currently blocking some of the train tracks.

But, work is continuing on in the area and the attraction will continue to be closed next week with no opening date announced by Disney just yet.

The Hall of Presidents

Back in Liberty Square, there’s another closure that is impacting The Hall of Presidents.

This is another attraction that has been closed for some time now as Disney adds President Joe Biden to the show in animatronic form. This is a routine refurbishment that is done every time a new president is elected.

And, the sweetest shop on Main Street, U.S.A. will be closed again this week as its major refurbishment continues.

Disney hasn’t shared an update on when the refurbishment will be completed, but for now, you can find many of the sweets and treats over at the Main Street Cinema.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments

There are also some closures impacting the Disney World hotels! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been undergoing a huge refurbishment as changes come to the entryway, lobby, monorail station, and even the rooms. And, this will be the final week of the closure before the resort reopens to all guests on July 19th (though the monorail station and the front entrance to the Great Ceremonial House will remain closed).

Work is also being done over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, as the rooms in the Main Tower get a new Incredibles-inspired look! Right now, the construction is pretty hard to miss in the main area, but the closures are only impacting the rooms currently.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort also joined the refurbishment list recently and phase one is already coming to a close! On July 12th, the hallway connecting the main lobby will reopen and the port cochere will close. Guests will be directed to curbside check-in at the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center in the meantime.

And, the den area near the lobby at  Disney’s Old Key West Resort will remain closed this week as work continues.
