Disney World has been receiving a lot of updates lately!
EPCOT is undergoing a huge transformation complete with new attractions and a new overall look. The resorts are getting a little TLC too. The Main Tower guest rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort are getting refurbished. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting an entryway overhaul. And, the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation is getting some updates right now. On top of that, a few attractions are closed for scheduled refurbishments. Let’s take a look at everything that will be closed for refurbishment between February 8th through February 14th, 2021.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
The PeopleMover hasn’t been open since March 2020 when Disney World closed. When the Magic Kingdom reopened, the attraction stayed closed then eventually wound up on the refurbishment list. The opening date has been pushed back about four times now.
The reopening date is currently scheduled for February 28th, 2021. We’ll let you know if this changes!

Walt Disney World Railroad
The train in the Magic Kingdom is currently unavailable. This is due to the construction of the upcoming attraction, TRON Lightcycle Run. The roller coaster is prohibiting the train from making its way through Tomorrowland.
We have no official opening date for the train or TRON at this point. The roller coaster will most likely open in 2022 and the train may resume operations at that time. We’ll keep you posted about TRON and the train!

The Hall of Presidents
This attraction features audio-animatronics of all past and current United States Presidents. After a new president is elected, the show will close while a new animatronic is created and installed. The Hall of Presidents is now closed while Disney prepares the show for President Joe Biden.
No official date has been announced for the reopening of the Hall of the Presidents. We’ll let you know when the date is released!

Animal Kingdom Refurbishments
Kali River Rapids
Guests have the opportunity to get soaked on the raft ride in Animal Kingdom. This is all fine and dandy during the summer. However, guest attendance for water rides gets pretty low in the winter. This gives Disney the opportunity to shut down wet rides for scheduled refurbishments.
As of right now, Kali River Rapids is closed until April 2nd, 2021.

These are all the attractions that are closed right now. Two more attractions are scheduled to close in March as well. The Mad Tea Party is scheduled for closure between February 22nd through March 4th. Plus, the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse will close from March 12th through March 25th.
Stay tuned for more refurb updates in the future!
