Disney Pic of the Week: Pandora Waterfall

On of the advantages of the current Coronavirus safety procedures at Walt Disney World is the use of only the standby queues for all the attractions. In Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom the Avatar Flight of Passage queue wanders past sights the FastPass queue misses.

With groups being separated by six feet along the queue, it gives photographers plenty of room to take an HDR set of photos of beautiful waterfalls within the mountains of Pandora.

When I merged the photos into Skylum’s Aurora HDR software, I choose the middle photo with a slow shutter of 1/15th of a second as the main motion photo. This gave me the silky flow of the water surrounded by shadowed and bright areas of the scene. This correctly exposed the sky and the details of the rocks and foliage surrounding the waterfall.
